Luke Troy Update

Went to the Newbury Park Invitational here in SoCal. 10 minutes from my house. Soon as I walked in the gym, Lindley Kistler caught my Hawkeye sweatshirt and we started talking. He helps out with coaching at Newbury Park. Stated his brother says Luke Troy is still gonna be a Hawk. Hasn't wrestled lately because of an elbow injury. Also had a concussion earlier in the season.

Pretty big annual tourney here. Over 30 teams including Clovis. Lots of great wrestling. Kistler said Gable was at this tournament last year and stayed at his house.

More later including Justin Mejia getting knocked out in the semis....literally. (separate thread?)

so does this mean we should not expect to see him at Iron man? I hope he is still a Hawk, Brands could turn him into something real impressive.

Yeah, it would be nice. Not to steal anyone's enthusiasm, but when he's in the Iowa room and going to classes as an Iowa Student, then I'll believe it. Just like everybody else we recruit. Lot of stuff happens on the way to the bank.

Lindley is a volunteer coach at Newbury Park high school, CA.

Sorry, if you were talking about Coach HARLAN Kister; yes he coached his 2 sons at M.L. King in Riverside, CA a few years back. I believe they wrestle at Cal Baptist now.
