I could be the reading into this article but it sounds like Luke took less money to come to Iowa. He says I always knew I wanted to come to Iowa but I had the top schools offering me full rides. It came down what school was make me into a champion. Even more impressive to me. Definitely shows he's all in. Good for him to have that in him at such a young age. Hard to believe Kids only a Junior and still improving.

He also has said he doesn't care who Iowa has projected/recruited at 157, because if he went to another college he would have to beat those guys anyway. He's got the mentality to be successful.

Who offers a Junior a fill ride? I know that is not legal per NCAA rules. That being said, he definitely has the attitude that is needed to be successful in D1 and sounds like he is going to be a star for you guys.

It isn't legal to do it directly but it is not against the rules to do it indirectly.

I think after 9/1 of a wrestlers junior year I believe coaches can start discussing with athletes - including scholarship info. I know there was a recent rule change allowing contact with juniors and I was thinking it was okay to discuss scholarships in some capacity.
