He also has the GREEN ARROW UP for theeeeee IOWA HAWKEYES.

Also, I heard today that KenPom has IOWA ranked as the #2 team in the
US of A, today, January 20th.

Anyone heading to Rutgers to watch this High-Flying Hawkeyes ?

Maybe Donald Trump will stop by, for a while.

If nova loses at seton hall tonight, we'd likely be on the one line, or at least #1 in kenpom

Yes, mid-season rankings don't get you a Trophy, however, IOWA being ranked in the Top 10 for first time in 14 years, is Big-time News.

Just think, if the Hawkeyes hadn't given the game to the Clowns, the HAWKEYES might be ranked #1 right now.

That wouldn't be good-- we've seen what happens to #1 teams when they play in the state of Iowa this year.

I prefer to think of the Clown loss as a "teaching moment". Ya gotta playa full 40, knuckleheads!

Iowa was ranked 10th in Week 12 before their disastrous finish in the B1G and limped into the NCAA tournament. I don't see that happening, but it did in 2013.

Yep, and Iowa was also in the top 5 at one point in the KenPom rankings that season. There was also an article that came out around this time about how Vegas would seed teams in the NCAA tournament and the Vegas odds-makers had Iowa as a #1 seed.

I don't see the same collapse happening this year either - at the same time, I would never predict such a collapse to any team without injuries. I am still dumbfounded at what happened to that team. We had a ton of talent. We had every starter on this year's team plus White, Marble, Olaseni, Basabe, McCabe, and Oglesby (who shot over 40% from three that season). That was a special team. Reminds me a lot of the 2010 football team that squandered a chance for a special year.

That team was overly-reliant on Dev to score points when we went into droughts (which happened quite frequently). This team has scoring options everywhere, even off the bench. At that point, White and JU weren't consistent scorers, and McCabe, Oglesby, and Olaseni were never big scorers either.

I like the cohesiveness, experience, versatility, and talent of this team better than that one

Pretty sure the green arrow means Iowa is up from where his last rankings were. But yea hopefully we can move up to the one seed in the midwest bracket.

Does anyone know how the first round location goes? What will it take for us to be playing in Des Moines? And if we were potentially in the midwest bracket could we play our first 2 games in Des Moines, then 2 in Chicago?

If we're a 1 or 2, we're in Des Moines. Might still be there as a 3/4 but it depends on where teams like Xavier and Michigan State are seeded and located if they end up above us

It's great to talk about current rankings and potential rankings. All I can say is "just win baby" and the rankings will take care of themselves. It would be great to play a couple of games in Des Moines, Can you imagine the excitement in downtown Des Moines? I might have to take a road trip (fly)back to Iowa. Go Hawks.

This is how rare:

Since Lute arrived 41 seasons ago Hawks have had 1 season with a 14-4 B!G record (87), 2 13-5 records (79 & 81) and only four 12-6 records (last was 97) before last year (a total of 5). If the boys finish only 7-6 they'll still have achieved a rare feat in Hawkeye world.

I think we'll be more like 14-4 and at least a semi finalist. Think we'll be on the four or five line when all is said and done. Barring a collapse it will be hard to move Hawks much lower with 13-14 wins in conference and the nice wins over FSU and Marquette as well.

But it is so fun to read about it now I have taken a picture, or a screen shot for the 21st Century, so as to remember the peaks among the valleys.
