Wow. Jesus, Mary, and Joseph.

I'd like to type up a more eloquent review, but I'm at a loss for words. The story and visuals are so absurd yet so believable, it made my head explode.

On the surface, this is an ultraviolent action film full of boner-inducing testosterone. Deeper, this is exactly the type of film that could inspire a semester-long college course. It has elements of Norse mythology, feminism/anti-feminism, psychology, sociology, and political science... all combined with amazing cinematography.

Thinking about the film again today, I am amazed at just how effectively they told a story with so little dialogue. I'd be surprised if Tom Hardy uttered more than 20 words the entire film, minus grunts.

Lastly, when we eventually find ourselves in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, I would like to play guitar on a war machine.

That does look like fun should it ever come to that.

In the meantime, you could use your guitar to rob banks.

Saw it Friday night. Its incredible.

The best part to me was that they did a lot of actual stunts and it wasn't all CGI crap.

Agreed.... the stunts and visuals without CGI was amazing. Great movie.

I really liked it though it is certainly a world that is trying to immerse itself within a previous franchise, so some of the stuff may kinda be hit or miss for some people. Some of the scenes were a bit hurried and you didn't necessarily get the complete feel for the scene that they wanted you to.

But beyond that, the action, the effects, the layouts, even the music was fantastic. I really liked the soundtrack and thought it was cool how they used the drums and the fire-spitting guitar within the chase sequences to make it even more intense.

One of the greatest fight, chase, war sequences ever filmed, ending up going through a multi-tornado dust storm.

Still, the hype on this flick was so huge, I was actually left a little underwhelmed by the last 1/2 the movie and the sappy ending. There will be sequels.

I'm hearing he next one was shot concurrently with the first, and that it's in editing, but reports are also saying it wasn't. Miller wrote it as trilogy. They were also saying the second one was going to be called Furiosa, but now, Miller is saying it's titled The Wasteland.

The movie got redundant by the end, a problem with any of Miller's. Only so much constant car-driven-action-madness one can take in just one sitting. It was good, don't get me wrong, but there can only be so many realistic stunts done before they begin to merge.

I would liken it to something like Cirque du Soleil, or some other performing art.......sure it is cool, but how long could you watch it for before you go, "well, we're seeing this again."
