Loved the solid reasoning for optimism!

I started wrestling my Fr year in HS and got crushed every day by a Sr with a mean streak who placed 3rd in State and a coach who started the same day as I did with no knowledge of the sport, but a hard core work program that made us better conditioned than opponents. I learned a lot from the upperclassmen. So year I beat out another Sr for varsity, but never won a match. Each week I analyzed my matches and felt I would win the next one. It started happening the next year.

Attitude is huge, and doing that little bit of extra to finish a move because you want it more than the other guy can be the difference between winning or falling just short.
