Major Explosion in Nashville

There’s nothing probable one way or the other about whether somebody will be in custody or whatever other stupid decisions that person made. The only reason to play it in Nashville would be out of pure stubbornness but as we are seeing across the country right now, stubbornness is not in short supply

It’s a glorified scrimmage that’s not even a reward for the players since they’re not getting a vacation out of it. The decision to move the game should be an easy one.

Shut it all down right? Nobody leaves their house or anything. Only weekly scheduled visits to the food pantry right?

Worst case, move the game to Memphis or Knoxville.
By all means, because if someone was trying to do harm how could they possibly find their way from Nashville to Memphis or Knoxville? Maybe, you're under the belief that the bomber would be distracted by Graceland and Fort Knox in those two cities and leave the bowl game alone.

???? Fort Knox = Knoxville?? Did I read that right??

Stubbornness or courage? Maybe we should all just cower in fear - fear of the virus, fear of knuckle-dragging thugs, fear of our shadows. Maybe you do not understand this, but the bowl game is a reward for the players because they get to play another game with their teammates. It may be beyond you to understand how much effort it takes to play football at this level, but the young men who do it have a deep love of football and athletic competition.

But my post suggests that making too big a deal of this particular knuckle-dragger is only likely to encourage other knuckle-dragging thugs - not the same one since that one will soon be in prison or dead. After all, that thug is a one-horse pony.

When did this country get so mentaly weak? We were so strong 80 yrs ago
No doubt. They are the participation trophy people of today’s society. Me, I’m of the opinion that there is a winner and losers. It’s sucks to lose but that’s what makes you get better if you hate to lose abs want to win to be the best. Thank God our Hawkeye football players and their families love to compete and win!

God bless you sir!

IF they move the game, I would consider it more of showing respect for a community that was recently the victim of a terrorist attack, not so much because of safety concerns of those involved with a minor college football game with not a whole lot in attendance.

LOL. Everyone knows that Fort Knox is in Knoxville; why else would they name it that? LOL.

Socialist teachings in college.
A whole bunch of career students "know" whats best for everyone else .
And they will belittle those of us that don't have a PhD in some worthless field.
Educated idiots
Was education really that difficult for you? Is having a degree as damning as you seem to portray it? If you don't like people with degrees, that would eliminate everyone who gets a diploma from Iowa (myself included).

Did I say a degree was worthless? Some are not and some are.

So like I said, stubbornness. This time it’s ‘not giving in to fear.’ I hope that you and others never ‘have to give in to fear’ when you see the look of pure terror in somebody’s face when they think they’re stuck in the middle of a terrorist attack again like I had to see a couple years ago when some dumbass crashed a helicopter into a building in midtown Manhattan and the first report was that it was a plane.

and also like I said, just play the game elsewhere. We don’t know if this moron has other timed explosives sitting elsewhere in Nashville. The teams are already chartering planes, it’s not too difficult to file a different flight path. Anybody that’s dumb enough to have booked travel and tickets to watch a scrimmage during a pandemic deserves to have their trip canceled

It was the piling on. Having an education does mean something positive in our society, but apparently not for some posters on this board. Just having pursued advanced degrees seems to be a black mark. I can tell you from experience that it's not. And if one of those posters who feels this way now happens to be lucky enough to have a child go on to get a degree, they might change their mind.

I have no insight into this attack, but I can fully, certainly, and surely guarantee you that he or they give no care about Iowa or Missouri and a fairly insignificant bowl game. It's not about showing the terrorists we won't waver ('Murica!). It's about what seems appropriate to the Nashville community in the days moving forward, and every random person on this forum including myself doesn't speak for them. I want Iowa to play if it's the right move for the community there.
Way to sneak that in there. You're right it's about showing terrorists we will hand them the power and cower in our basements ('China....
I mean USA)......

I would have to question the intelligence of those who put themselves so far into debt to get a degree that they put a comfortable lifestyle at risk.

There are those, yes. But for every one of those, there are literally hundreds who were promised jobs upon graduation from diploma factories like Trump U and Phoenix U only to find out that their degrees are worthless. Look at the cohort default rates for those schools. The average debt is substantially higher than most other schools. Why do you think that Trump changed the Dept of Ed with Betsy DeVos to where it is no longer self-policingabput these places? His and her schools were/are the biggest scams around.

You're far from a sensible person, but I already could tell prior to this reply. An irrational Trump-era blanketed 'China' response when this has nothing to do with China or cowering in fear to anyone. Also, the bomber was a crazy US citizen from a Nashville suburb.

You said an entire city block was destroyed, making sound like the entire area was leveled. Don’t move your goal posts now.
Destroyed does not just mean 'leveled', and I never claimed that was what happened, and every person in the world has access to the photo/video of the block to see the actual damage. Any objective take on the damage is that it's horrendous and that I have to ramble on here to respond to such stupidity is stupid on my end.

Judging by your posts, telling me I am not sensible is pure irony. I made that response because it is about as stupid as your ('Murica') comment you slid in that post. So feel free to jump down off that soapbox and GFY.

While not collapsed, many of these old buildings were damaged badly enough to require their demolition,.. wait a few months and you'll see the total result of this explosion...

The 'Murica comment was in response to some other guy saying this game surely had to be played to basically 'show the terrorists that we won't waver,' which is the same 5 cent flag lapel faux-patriotic BS that would seem stupid to any sensible American who doesn't use it ironically. That comment was really stupid and 'Murica' summed it up better than this unnecessary longer explanation here. Also ICYMI, https://www.reddit.com/r/MURICA/. The irony is you doubled down on that stupid comment with random China-fearing garble that's popular these days. Please judge my other posts, I'm pretty reasonable especially when I complain about the many repeat or clickbait/undescriptive threads on this forum. Happy to engage in civil discourse so apologies that I called you insensible. Your comment was insensible and I'd rather critique the content of your posts than you yourself, who I admittedly do not know.

Let me guess, you didn’t type this?
Yes. The whole block is 'destroyed'. Every business at a minimum has serious damage all the way up to ones with severe structural damage. You don't need to be an engineer or work with explosives to see that from street level.
