Make some room Mr. Kinnick, Desmond says Hi.

I know I could google but how many games did nile do it in? Isn't there someone else tied with them for the school record?

Some amazing picks this year. This might have been the most impressive actual pick. It's tough to top a pick 6, but this was not an absolutely awful throw. QBs complete those against a lot of worse CBs.

Nile Kinnick and his Ironmen played EIGHT games in 1939 and finished in the top ten in the country with a 6-1-1 record. To say King tied Kinnick's "season" record is just a tiny bit inaccurate, given that the 2015 team has already played one more game than Kinnick did and has 3 left. It was hard for Nile to make any more interceptions after that eighth game because they didn't play after that.

So there's that, too.

And I have no doubt Desmond King would be the first to point that out. He's a great CB, but Nile Kinnick's record still stands: 8 INTs in 8 games.

Also, Nile ;played both ways, and how much did teams pass back then> But any new season records benefit from more games played. Also I wonder if there is any Iowa record of games in a row over more than one season. In 1920 under Howard Jones, Iowa won its last three games, won all seven in 1921, all seven in 1922 and its first three in 1923. 20 in a row. Or is it just "Modern Era" wins that count, as it does in yardage, passing, int. etc.

And being a student athlete in today's game is far more difficult than it was when Kinnick played.

Sounds like you guys are calling for an aterisk next to King's name if he breaks the record. They already made a movie about that...
