Makes Sense: Daniel Penny faces 15 year prison sentence for being a concerned citizen while Hunter walks

Nothing makes sense about a President pardoning friends, family and political allies. Trump did it. Biden just did it. Trump will do it again. It sucks and IMO should not be legal, but they have that right today.

Having said that, this is apples and oranges. Penny killed a man, whether justified or not is for the jury to decide. If Penny was justified then the jury clears him. If not, then he can do his time or apply to be pardoned by Trump.

Jury verdicts are not infallible.

Trump has no authority to pardon.

You're an asshole.....

My understanding of the Penny dude was the deceased was assaulting a bunch of people, while not putting their life in danger, and he( penny) choked the deceased while attempting to subdue him.

The guy knew how to kill people and killed someone, so I'm OK with him having some form of penalty, but he shouldn't lose 15 years of his life for it. He did 99.9999% the right thing, he shouldn't have choked him, he should have beat the shit out of him.

He thought he was simply subduing him until LE arrived, Dumbass, but “beating the shit out of him” in a crowded subway car with women and children in harm’s way was the way to go? 😂 To support the fact he was simply trying to control a violent felon, he could have easily adjusted his hold to end his life in about 20 seconds if he had any intent to harm him. “Beat the shit out of him”…..JFC……🎅😆

Easy Tommy.

Choking someone in a fight is a major no no, that's when the lawyers get to go from dumb to really ****ing stupid, aka what this guy is looking at. What I was saying was he had the ability to beat him to a bloody pulp and if he would have done so he would have been looking at an assault charge, thus, "beat the shit out of him".

In our ****ed up world, Legally, it would have been better to let him up than restrain him, via choke, and "stomp his head." Which doesn't make a ton of sense but as soon as you restrict an airway, this shit comes into play.

How sad is the city of New York when the head of th NYPD union comes out and says the DA's office is misguided. He said that NYPD only has 30K cops in a city of 8+ million people, and they need all the citizen help they can get.

No penalty is deserved. People were in fear for their lives. If Penny was intent on killing the guy, he could have easily snapped the guy's neck.
