West Columbia, S.C.--(WLTX) A man, with a sock covering his hand, walked into a West Columbia bank, and tried to rob the place. Police are working to find out who he is, where he is and to take him into custody.

The incident happened before noon Friday at the South Carolina Federal Credit Union. It's located along 12th Street, across the street from the police station. Investigators say the man never showed the teller a gun, but had the sock covering his hand as if he had one. He demanded money, but they don't believe he got away with any cash.

No one was hurt during the incident.
