Manny Rugamba Tweet?!?

He’s likely gone.

Maybe this means one of the freshman corners passed him up. Regardless, the freshman corners better get ready to play a ton of snaps now.

Rumor is Creamer has been standing out and OJ had been outplaying Rugamba. If all true, not terribly surprising, but definitely a big hit to the depth chart, again, IF true.

We’ll always have Michigan

I think that game for him was a little overblown. Go back and watch the game and see that he was burned several times and the Michigan QB was inaccurate or their receiver dropped the pass. One was a sure TD and if it goes it would have likely been the game decider. Would the narrative have been the same after a loss getting burned?

I'm cool with it. Creamer is an athletic guy and if he is hungry to improve and not have a complacent attitude great! Depth is a serious issue for sure. We will be seeing Roberts and DJ Johnson from swarm18 now if we weren't going to already. Seems like Manny may have lost his motivation to improve maybe had a baditude too.

Who cares didn’t happen. Huge int on the last drive. Like I said, we’ll always have Michigan

It's rare that a point and counterpoint can both be true...but in this case, it is.

I remember while watching that game thinking "if Michigan had a decent QB...". Of course, the pass rush beating him to smithereens had something to do with that, but I digress.

So long, farewell, good luck to you Manny, and thanks for the pick.

Fans care because he didn’t perform as well as many think. Yes, he made a key play or two, but also made numerous mistakes. He has the talent, but hasn’t taken the next step. Of course he could and it helps to have him with experience, but you also have to look at all things not just the good.

This is not possible....Jimbo=QB Guru...thus could not have been the QBs fault.

Rugamba saw Jackson pass him last year. Now, he's seen OJ and Hankins pass him. Given current rumor .... Creamer is ascending ... so maybe he passes him too.

On top of all that, we have 3 talented true freshmen CBs in Roberts, Johnson, and Brents who have now been working with our DBs for nearly a month.

Rugamba had presumably expected a lot in his first year of starting ... and he fell far short of expectations. To some guys, like Jackson, they use that as motivation to push themselves to improve and develop. To other guys, it sometimes shakes their confidence too much .... and they rely too much on excuses for rationalizing their let-down OR sometimes they wrongly assume that they're just not good enough .... but the end result is the same ... some guys just pack it in when the going gets tough.

I've been expecting some shake up at CB for a while now ... I just don't know if I'm surprised that we'd see Rugamba bolt first.

Anyhow, I recall that after Lowery graduated there was the expectation that either Draper or Fleming would be the heir apparent to win the vacated CB spot opposite King. Thus, it was a pretty big surprise when Mabin switched over from WR and jumped ahead of everyone else to win the open CB spot.

Defensive Back is not a major concern.

Positions of concern in decending order based on quality, experience, depth, etc.

LB - Lots of new faces, ?????
WR - Some experience with Easley and Smith-Marsette, but quality is questionable
RB - Like what we saw from Young and IKM in limited carries. Depth is thin.
OL - Some experience but usually takes us 4+ games to gel

I'd swap OL and WR. We're not as deep as some think on the line, and a few guys still have some things to prove.

I agree. I thought people always upgraded his perceived level of play due to that circus interception. I never thought he looked great although there are much better football minds on here than myself . JMO

Quite true And1. Michigans QB took a beating in that game, and when he wasn't getting hit, he was missing guys deep. Credit to Manny for making a play on some poorly thrown balls, but your correct that plays were there to be made, and the QB wasn't able to capitalize on the opportunities.

I don't know the Twitter Universe. Is it possible he's not gone rather just off the rails and after a stern talking to, might be back in good graces? I guess I'm just wondering if it's confirmed he's gone.

He was also burnt against Ohio State but the ball was under thrown and he caught up to break it up at the last second.

This can't be, because the geniuses on this board say Ferentz always favors upperclassmen over younger players. What gives geniuses?

The geniuses also like to tell us we are "over the scholarship limit", not realizing how easy it is to "fix" that.

Oh brother.....You mean, between the two QB's that are both in the NFL? I'ts probably a good idea that the coaches make the decisions and not 80% of the fans. LOL
Yes...between the two that are in the NFL, nice problem to have...one was told he would no longer be the starter, a move that coulda happened a dozen or so games earlier really...
