While not Hawkeye related I had no idea that someone was close to breaking his all time scoring record:

Pete Maravich's seemingly unbreakable NCAA career scoring record in jeopardy of being broken

Detroit Mercy's Antoine Davis is just 63 points shy of equaling Maravich's all-time scoring record.

Playing five years versus three has some perks. He missed the record by three points but the CBI might invite them despite being 14-19 just so he can get the record. That would be a travesty.

Maravich also had no three point line, and no shot clock. Maravich was limited to 83 games because Freshmen couldn’t play and there were limited post season opportunities. Davis has played 144 games.

If they let this kid play an extra game to set the record there should be three asterisks next to it.
