Mark Hall loses

Brucki didn't start wrestling until he was in high school at Carl Sandburg in Orland Park, IL. He won the large class (AAA) state title his senior year. If anyone has an extremely high upside, it is him.

is this true?
Yep. I just watched it. He gave up 4 back points on a tilt. Totally outwrestled the kid the other 6 and a half minutes (3 tds to none I believe).

Isaiah White lost just before Hall also giving up 4 nf points. Controlled the match until Hughes got on top of him in the 3rd period. Drew Hughes is and always has been a hammer on top.

So just today Cortez lost, Hall lost, Gulibon lost 2x, either Morelli or Shakur is going to lose, Nevills may lose and Nolf woulda lost to Brill. PSU is not very good at wrestling.

Shows you how much better people are in college. This is an example of why people shouldn't freak out when an Iowa guy loses during redshirt. It happens

But really. Not a big deal although I'm surprised it's not a bigger name. Like I said in another post, most every dude you are facing has now has man strength. It's a grind and a good lesson to learn.

Because CP hasn't pulled himself together yet. He was last seen sobbing uncontrollably and throwing a temper tantrum. Hopefully WCW can get him back on his feet in time to come up with his standard excuses before FRL on Tuesday.
If that was Marinelli beaten by an also-ran at an early tourney, they would have had something posted before Pyles could clean up his pants.

This was his biggest win since that state title. He upset OPRF's Davonte Mahomes (UofM) in the semis. Mahomes had beat him multiple times before and majored him the next week at team state duals.

Just 30 min prior to this in the Mizz/VT thread you didn't see the HWT AAing
What don't you get? Again I predicted they will not get more than 2 AAs from 125,133,141,165,174,197 & HWT. Maybe 125 and HWT are the 2 that I think will place. And while I do see them as the most likely to place out of these 7, I don't see them as some kind of locks since HWT has not been able to make it a whole season yet and the the 125 is a true freshman. So maybe if one of these 2 don't place that makes room for one of the others to be able to place and still not get more than 2 out of these 7.

He is wrestling's version of the Main Stream Media. Can't take it when they get punched in the mouth. Go cry in your safe space, PSU chat room.

What is trolling about this? I get that you guys feel good about these 7 and you should. I feel that it is harder to All American than most on here like to accept.
125 - is probably going to AA. But he is a true freshman so not placing would not surprise me at all.
133 - Just lost to an unranked guy. What quality wins does he have other than Conaway? 133 is a pretty tough weight.
141 -
165 - He looked pretty good after I made this statement. But I do think there is a lot of talent at this weight and he is a freshman.
174 - I guess I am just not that impressed with these guys. Morelli lost to Patrick Rhoads last year. 174 has a lot of talent in it as well.
197 - I just don't have as much faith as you guys that an undersized injury prone guy is going to sneak his way onto the podium. He reminds me a lot of Chad Beatty. He is going to have some good wins but come NCAA time the big boys will be ready and he will not be on the podium.
HWT - Again he looked very good after I made my statement. It still does not change my premise. There are 4 guys I think he is going to have a REAL hard time beating. Then he is going to have to find one of the other 4 spots.

So my premise is this.
133,141, 174 & 197 are not going to AA.
125, 165 & HWT Probably have real good shots to AA, but I am banking on one of them not because shat happens.

Does this have a little wishful thinking? Sure. But so is thinking more than 3 of these guys are on the podium.

Also I started this by saying that PSU is very beatable this year. Which kinda indicates I still probably think they are the favorites. Since even if they only do get 2 AAs from this group they are going to be hard to beat with the points they are throwing up with the other 3 weights.

Bear with me here ....

Getting back to original topic, I can't get the thought out of my head that 500 message board athletes are jumping up at their computers and saying "That's easy!" like Brave Sir Robin in the bridge scene in Monty Python and the Holy Grail, when they see that Mark Hall lost.

If it makes you feel better Mike, I probably would have lost that match too.

This is an interesting topic for sure, a number #1 recruit who forecasts to be a super elite college wrestler takes a loss, but on the other hand not all that surprising considering he was wrestling folk style in HS earlier this year. Obviously a RS is a helpful thing, even more so for guys in the middle/upper to upper weights.
A guy like Hall, each college match is a learning experience. RS records don't count, so use it for what it is, practice. Going to be a great one to watch, too bad he's on the wrong team.

Hall is going to be a hammer. No doubt. But what I think people should take from this loss that early season tourney results shouldn't put certain posters on the ledge.

CP has been infatuated with his #11 ranked Gulibon (63-38 dnp, 5th, dnp, ?) ever since he preseason ranked the red shirt frosh ahead of AA Tommy Thorn and then spent two threads and several pages defending it on TOM. He followed that with his infamous #1 preseason ranking last year, but will quickly point out that results don't mean anything because his rankings are based on body of work and are not predictions.

Quite frankly Hall kicked Brucki's arse, other than the back points. Hall looked like he was giving up 15+ pounds, like a 152 pounder vs. a solid 171 upperclassman.
