To that point, why should we need or want to build EVERYTHING here? Has Trump ever heard the phrase "competitive advantage"? Should the USA start manufacturing cheap, plastic dollar store toys that cost 5x as much as China? Do we think we make clothing better and cheaper than Vietnam and Bangladesh?

I'm all for onshoring strategic national defense stuff, like semiconductors and pharmaceuticals. But trying to bring EVERYTHING back to domestic manufacturing is asinine.

This has NOTHING to do with made in America. It is everything to do with adding taxes to the average American to at least minimally mitigate the damage he is going to do with his tax cuts for the uber wealthy and corporations.

Intuitively that seems correct. But at least according to polling data, the number of boomers who do not plan on passing down any of their wealth is quite high and growing.

Combine that with the growing financial troubles of that population, including the fastest growing homeless population, I think the impact might not be as great as we might assume.
