Martin to michigan

Just saw that too. Figured once JH got involved he was headed to Ann Arbor. Also think the staff here knew that last week hence the Marchese offer.

I wish the kid the best. Not going to sweat it. Him and coopers tape looks exactly the same. He is the 4th wr for Michigan in this class with what they brought in last year. Kid may get buried on the depth chart fast.

Michigan is an elite football program with elite academics. I wish I had that opportunity, good for him. Wish we could of got him, and frustrated we couldn't get a decent recruit in the same town as the football program. But I don't blame him at all for going there.

Yep, with a douche bag for a head coach.

The last several top WR recruits in the state have gone not to Iowa, why is that?

I may be in the minority here (what's new), but I'd like to see the kid buried on the depth chart among the 7 other 4 and 5 star WRs Michigan has recruited in the past 2 years (including the #1 overall recruit in the 2017 class, 5***** WR Peoples-Jones). He will regret his decision to jump on the bandwagon and wonder what could have been at Iowa, where he likely would have started for 3 or 4 years and been loved by the fans. I'd also like to see Harbaugh leave the school in 2 years, leaving the guy with a brand new coaching staff, riding the pine, and seeking a transfer down the road.

I know it's spiteful, but come on. The guy was a hometown boy who attended 5 home games even this year (he was there when we knocked off Mich and he stormed the field with the rest of us). He grew up a Hawk fan, saw our dire need for WR talent, and ultimately fell for the last minute smoke and mirrors of flashy Michigan.

Welp, our WR recruiting this year was an absolute, utter disaster. Maybe next year at least the staff will be smart enough to go after some JUCOs or grad transfers who can contribute...because next year is going to be run, run, run, and pass only when we need to.

Withheld posting as it's confusing times for kids. He wasn't always up front w/Iowa staff, and given leeway.

Wish he would have chosen the Hawks, but since he hasn't, he's just another wolverines... and no one is more fun to beat than those pukes, which he is now one.

You'd have to think not knowing who the WR coach is going be and having an unproven commodity as the OC played a major decision in not playing for the Hawkeyes. Wish him well except when he plays against the Hawks.

Hope the NJ kid makes the decision to flip to the Hawks now.

Not a surprise, don't blame him at all for going to a program that actually utilizes receivers. Maybe it'll change under BF and if so we'll start having better luck landing higher level WRs.

Not sweating this. Landing Creamer and Bryan helps a lot, good day.

No one knows for sure what goes through a kid's head, but I can't help but think Martin was not convinced he would be an integral part of the Iowa offense. People joke about Iowa receivers being downfield blocking specialists first and foremost, but it's really not that far fetched.

I'm in full reactor meltdown mode right now! How dare he go to Michigan. I just can't take it!

Arrington, Darboh, and now Martin.
None of them world beaters, so who cares. On the other hand, Iowa had better get their shite together with the embarrassing passing game...the don't deserve getting Martin right now.

I wish the kid good luck and hope he finds what he is looking for. I do hope he gets shut down every time he plays against Iowa though.

I'm not disappointed, but maybe this will teach the coaching staff a lesson. Don't slow play in-state kids. If we'd have offered him a couple weeks before the Opening, he'd be a Hawkeye right now.
then why did he take all these free gameday visits afterwards? Didn't MI tell him to hit the road and then come back to him recently?

I hope jimmy finds a better option and drops his ass tomorrow night! :D
