l've always had a theory that when a coach is fired mid-season and an interim coach is named, teams can often gin themselves up for that next/first game, whether to show the new guy what they've got or it's simply a breath of fresh air. After that, my sense is that they tend to settle back to the norm, or rather to go back to where their true talent takes them.
