There is some satisfaction in seeing MSU suffer but honestly its hurting Iowa's big wins at this point. As for Maryland, I still don't know how good they are, they just beat Northwestern in OT so take that FWIW. It would be an honor for Iowa to hand them their 2nd loss this season. MSU in effect is out of the running for the conference crown which brings us back to Maryland.... I think I'll pull for Maryland in this one in the hopes that Iowa can be the next team to knock off the Terps and add to that tourney resume.

I'm pulling for MSU. It will tarnish the IA-MD game a bit and perhaps make MD a bit more hungry should they lost to MSU but I really, really, really want IA to win the B1G championship outright this year. It's been way too long. At the end of the day, a MD loss will help achieve that.
I think it just depends how good you think this Iowa team will be all year. If there's any chance we could hit a cold spell and end up on the bubble I think you root for MSU. Otherwise you want a Maryland loss to help us in the BIG championship.

We effectively have a 5 game lead on Sparty so they're basically out of it already. Their win gives us another game cushion over Maryland and is better for our RPI and SOS and all the metrics. Maryland at worst would be like 11 on Thursday. Not that big of a deal.

absolutely pull for Michigan State. We are talking about a Big Ten Conference Championship here people. MSU is not even close to threatening Iowa for that crown. We need Maryland and Indiana to lose. I don't care "how it makes the future games look". You know what looks better? Winning the Big Ten for the first time since 1979. That is what I am rooting for.
I think absolutely you pull for MSU today. If the Terps lose that will be there 2nd loss & let's say they beat Iowa next week, well that keeps the Hawks ahead of them by 1 game in the standings, but if the Terps beat Sparty today & them beat Iowa they will effectively have a 1 game lead on the Hawks due to head to head. Where Maryland is ranked next week really won't matter.it will still be a game against a top 25 team.

I know there are a lot of "ifs" in there and if The Queen had balls She's be the King, but let the games begin! Isn't it awesome to be relavent and discussing scenarios for a championship! It's been far too long in my book.
this.... Maryland will be hungry regardless as they have an opportunity with a win against the Hawkeyes to be potentially tied for first and own the head to head tie breaker with us for #1 seed. We only play them once this year on the road this year so it will obviously be a big game. I still think Indiiana is going to get their share of losses so I am really more concerned with what Maryland and Purdue do the rest of the way out. Since we we only play Marland once at their place, this game could go a long way towards determining the eventual regular season championship.

MSU, not just to assist us in our pursuit of a regular season championship, but because Maryland just joined the league. Nothing easy for them Not yet.
MSU, no doubt. You know we are going to lose some games so why not put as much distance between us and the other supposed leaders when we can.
