Beat writer for Maryland on SiriusXM radio tonight--he was the same guy who broke the story last week that Edsell would be fired after the Ohio State game.
Anyways, he talked about how when Maryland hired Edsell a few years ago from UConn, and how Maryland had "limited funds" to hire a Head Coach at that time (why they ended up with Edsell) as they were in a financial blood bath at the time.
Now he said Maryland has become VERY financially healthy since joining the B1G and they may be paying upwards to $ million annually to get a new top head coach in there.
Apparently the founder of Under Armour is a terrapin grad and wants to make Maryland the "Oregon of Nike" so the big dollars will likely be spent to hire a new coach.
Many believe Maryland could be a sleeping east coast football giant with the right coach.
