With the exception of the Badgers, I'd prefer the Hawks' opponents to be at full strength. Getting back to back road wins would be huge...

Morsell is a really good player, I bet Luka is somewhat disappointed to hear that since they both worked out together during the early summer....

I'm just glad we don't have to deal with Fernando this time around. That guy was a total hoss a couple of seasons ago.

hoss good description of him. Other phrases you could’ve used but some are frowned upon by the likes of Gary Barta.

agree with others don’t care if full strength or not a W is a W and they are all going to hard fought to get this year in the conference especially on the road.

Watching this game I see a lot of athletes, but it looks like an AAU game. The only one under control is Jackson-Davis. Take him away and Indiana is in way more trouble than we are if we didn't have Luka.

Iowa won’t suffer this year from a lack of quality opponents.

Key player injured and short turn around time to prepare for the Hawkeyes? Two factors that may play well in Iowa’s favor for a road game that a contender needs to win.

This is the second Big10 postponement this week...
from most coaches who have spoken about this, the players are either at their home or at the facility practicing or attending online courses; the players are not attending in person classes. When they leave the practice facility, they grab all the food they need.

I would imagine the teams experiencing covid issues are the ones where players went home for the holidays

Sometimes part of having a great season is timing. Getting an opponent when they may not be 100 percent healthy, coming off of a big win or an overtime game on short rest, etc. Take advantage when you get those opportunities and don't feel bad for an opponent. Depth matters and the biggest fear in this situation is making a hero out of a little used sub because we don't take them seriously or adjust to what they bring.

I wasn't that impressed with either team-neither team shoots (or at least they didn't last night) that well from the perimeter. I see both struggling to keep up with Iowa's ability to fill it up. As long as we stay away from that bad Iowa defense that rears it's ugly head occasionally I see us beating both those teams.

Maryland rather small inside, so have to assume more of the same w double teams for Luka.

Hope we hit open looks and would love to see more guys cutting to the hoop in that situation.

And hope we’ve been practicing w an Under Armor ball all week

Maryland is an absolute must win. Road game wins are what separate the contenders from the champions. This is a winnable road game.

Maryland might be a wounded animal protecting her young in this game. If they lose, their whole season could collapse. But the opposite could also be true: Win this game and it could propel them. We really need to be ready to take their best shot. I hope the guys know they are going to have to hustle and work hard to earn it.

Are we the better team? After what I saw vs Indiana, we very clearly are the better team. But, It is a long trip to get out there and we can’t just show up...

Exactly, like having back to back road games all the way acrossed the country. I mean seriously. They played late last week on the east coast, fly back to Iowa City I assume, then have to fly all the way back to the east coast the middle of this week, then fly back for a game at home just a couple days later. Nice job on the schedule there league office.

Morsell was supposed to be out at least a few more days but it was reported today that he's been cleared to play against Iowa. He's one of MD's best players, if not the best. Wish we could've dodged his return.

Penn St. is really screwing the pooch when it comes to protecting their players from the virus. They have four games in a row cancelled already and at least two of them are against current contenders.

Can't count on any B1G games, especially on the road, but Maryland will miss Morsell, who is their defensive stopper.
Interesting. Posts on monday saying he had surgery and out for 1 to 2 weeks, and todays game thread says they're expecting him to play?? Really? Somebodies information appears suspect.....
