Maryland shooting

What has changed? Guns have been legal since 1776.

So, only 126 years of technological progress our forefathers couldn't possibly have imagined when they wrote the gun gospel in 1791? Nice. Good thing nothing much has changes since 1917 too.
The really cool thing is that we have a process to change what our founding fathers wrote. It’s just that some people conveniently “forget” that.

But no one is using "1917-era" technologies for these shootings, are they?

I suppose we could "grandfather" in 1917-tech as the baseline, and ban everything else....
We could ban lunatics and criminals, that would help for starters. But the best part of that is the Party of Free Shit would cease to exist.

We could ban lunatics and criminals

Really?

Seems so much easier to ban access to the weapons used, routinely, in mass shootings.
Other countries have "lunatics and criminals", too. But they have 1/100th the number of shootings we have, so there must be something else different. See if you can figure this one out, Sherlock Holmes....

Why be hyperbolic and go back over 100 years. Mass shootings and taking revenge out on doctors, lawyers, coworkers, etc; is a more common thing in the past couple of decades. With the same type weapons available. The weapons haven’t changed, so what has?

For the record, I’m wanting 21 or older for AR’s and red flag laws.

The weapons have changed.
As has the marketing.

And dropping the assault weapons ban certainly was a major change (you can quite literally see the increase a few years after than, in case you were wondering)

No an amendment isn't necessary, if that's what you mean.

Until we get full control to pass gun legislation, these will continue. Too bad the rednecks love their guns.

What do you call gun owners who don't "love" their guns, understand they are a tool and should be (to some extent) regulated which includes age limitations, training and background checks? Are Americans allowed to responsibly support the 2nd Amendment and NOT be a redneck?

45% by this reports count.
It’s roughly 60% if you assume the same number of handguns are used in the 3,300 unidentified murders using firearms that you have in the identified section. This to me, is why the discussions stall. “Common sense” to one side, isn’t “common sense” to the other. Unless you’re talking a 100% ban on guns, which isn’t happening.
