While I am sure the left will attempt to immediately rebrand DEI to something else (as they did with affirmative action before) this is going to instantly and devastatingly defund the democrat political machine in universities.

This will directly impact Harvard (I have no sympathy for my alma mater), yale, Stanford, Duke and others. Next, we need to tax their endowments to help fund the student loan crisis these same institutions contributed to. Individuals should pay back their loans (at cost) but these ridiculous interest rates can be covered by taxing the universities massive stock pipes of cash.

When one attends a training/certificate program at a university they cannot claim it as an Alma Mater. That is reserved for graduates of a four year degree program - which you would know if you received such a degree. Otherwise I could claim Stanford, London School of Economics and MIT in addition to my actual degrees from Iowa and Northwestern.

That is academic stolen valor my friend.

Just call me Claudine Gay my friend ;) Harvard's very own DEI (former/still paid) president

"the school, college, or university that one once attended."

The literal definition of the word proves you wrong btw ;) gay is still an academic fraud though

Leftist heads are exploding at the prospect of making America great again instead of marxist!! What device would you like to crack this leftist bitch in the mouth with?!! >

Quote the last part now :)
I think universities spend a ridiculous sum on DEI efforts for the record. But as a free markets guy I don’t think the solution to that should involve the federal government. Let students who don’t like those policies choose other institutions.

Either way I’m not going to get my panties in a wad over this particular issue. I’m much more focused on what Trump will do to lower prices…so far he has been focused on more trivial issues that are good for a headline.

What about your AD from Kirkwood?

If you could form a logical argument you wouldn’t need to express yourself so violently. Openly condoning violence against women should have you banned. Why are you still here?

Were you unaware that I'm a Harvard educated man, Alaska? Many posters here are quite bitter about it for some reason.

That's happening too, but we're ending the war in Ukraine first to help

If he does manage to end the war and Ukraine gets what I believe it deserves (as they are the victim) then I will give Trump credit.

No idea.

I am a fiscal conservative capitalist Christian never-Trumper. I’ve been a businessman for 30 years. But sure, cause I think Trump is a scumbag felon dumbass I must be a commie in your black and white world.

Why would I be bitter about your education? If it's true, then good for you. My educational path was typical of most Military members; a hodgepodge of schools spread out across the country. 😁

Oh, I wasn't implying you, just stating that many hate on it here lol. In full transparency it was a one semester series of business courses my employer had me do. They had the option to go through an official MBA program (work would pay for half of it) following that certification course but I declined to go through with it bc I was not impressed with the courses I went through overall and didn't find the cost to be worth it even at 50% off. I talk about being "a Harvard educated man" mostly as a low tier troll lol (it seems to work quite well!)

Travelling the nation and studying at various places in person like you did seems like a fun/good way to do it.

Hey, a semester is a semester. Good for you. Ya, my path took 10 dadgum years. I started off at Lake Sumter Community College in Leesburg, FL (affectionately known as 13th grade). I got accepted to FSU and was going to transfer, then my bi-polar father went manic and killed two people in a traffic accident--gave my college money to my mom for attorney fees, then joined the USAF. From there I attended the University of Alaska, Anchorage, Angelo State, University of Phoenix, Wayland Baptist University, Howard College, and Excelsior University (and took a ton of CLEP/DANTES exams).

Probably TMI, but there you have it.

Sure because 18 year olds frequently consider a university's DEI policies when making a college choice.

I had more than a little influence on where my kids went to college. If the parents don’t like the school they could always tell their kid they don’t approve. If the student and parents don’t give a shit why should the federal government step in?

Trumpers aren’t actually free market capitalists at all.

i'm good with reducing the dei (as currently inflicted) footprint but can you connect the dots on if/how/will/when any of this trickles down to students?

One of my all time favorite movies lol loved seeing the dukes make an appearance in coming to America (1 and 2)
