Caught up with Iowa commit Matt Hankins, who made his official visit this weekend. He traveled up to Iowa City with his dad, arriving on Friday night, and his host for the weekend was Manny Rugamba.
On Saturday, Hankins said they were able to tour the business school and the athletic facilities. Then, he went to the game, where he hung out with the other recruits. Hankins said the biggest highlight for him was storming the field with the fans and then hanging out with the players after a win like that.
Today, he caught up with all the coaches, who told him the opportunity is there for a cornerback to come in and play next year. They've just told him to continue to work hard, get his weight up a little, and come in and perform like he's capable of next summer.
Since he had entertained taking a Michigan visit earlier this season, I asked Hankins where all of that stands and he said, "I'm strongly committed to Iowa and always have been."
There are no other visits planned. He's all in with Iowa.
