Max Murrell visiting September 7

Surprised no mention of this yet. He's been to Iowa before but this will be an official.

4 star by 247 and Rivals. Rated #99 overall by Rivals and #77 by 247. He reminds me of Aaron White. He would be a great commit and would take pressure off Fran if he misses on Foster. It would be great to land both though.

Murrell is looking for a fast paced offense so Iowa appears like a good fit.

Just for fun, the points for a class of Foster, Murrell, Jackson and Ulis would have been good enough for #16 nationally last year.

A class of Foster, Murrell and Ulis would have finished at #31.

That might be one of the most impressive HS highlight videos I have seen just because of the defensive and offensive display. He reminds me of a shorter, left-handed Kevin McHale.

I've seen a lot of highlight videos over the years.

Physically, he reminds me of Chris Street. A bit of JR Koch too, although Koch was 6'11 I believe.

He could be a solid player. Remains to be seen if he reaches Aaron White status.

EDIT: I don't think we'll be getting Jackson, but a class of Ulis, Foster and Murrell would still be fantastic, especially considering how much we need young talent in the post.

Iowa is also getting visits from Steven Crowl, a 4 star center rated just outside the top 100.

They are also getting one scheduled with Brandon Stroud, a high 3 star SG rated 170th.

Crowl might be tough to beat out Wisconsin or his hometown Gophers. We are Stroud's best offer to date.

The more that I have googled and read and watched...the more I really like this kid. He is a long and athletic kid with good skills. He is a coaches son and a high level student. Wisconsin and others are now sniffing around after the summer he had......I hope we can get a visit.

Or..., 2nd thoughts over Boeheim’s age are the reason Jackson is considering 4 other schools. A little family stability might be rather attractive in comparison.

BTW, maybe Dain Dainja (4*PF) is a reason Foster is even considering Baylor and Murrell (a similarly ranked 4*PF) committing after his September 7 visit might help Iowa’s cause with Xavier.

The Law of Averages and Iowa B-ball recruiting is how we eneded up with Dickerson instead of Tyler Ullis and with SG Ellingson instead of a higher profile guy that went elswhere.

I think we are in contention...that we have a legitimate shot. I think it comes down to exactly what the young man said....he has to feel like he fits. Hopefully he gets along well with our guys!

This would be a great get on two fronts. One we would be getting a very good player. Two, the obvious, a poke in the eye to the mighty Hoiball and the bugeaters.

Really like what I see and hear. Already shows some physicality, but has the frame to add 20 lbs of muscle. Didn't see enough of his shot or ability to handle the ball, but it sounds like he can shoot the 3. Rising quickly late in HS, much like White.
