Yes! I was trying to explain that to my wife yesterday. I remember if you gave it to your crush and ran away, if they caught you then you were their boyfriend. Of course, as a 6 year old.

We gave a few out to our good neighbors last night for the first time. Put candy and s’mores stuff and bubbles and water balloons in for the kids. Small bottles of wine for the adults. My wife really enjoyed doing it. Nice to make people unexpectedly happy.
