McSorley biggest DB in CFB

Barkley was incredible. Pretty much a one man wrecking crew. With that said, McSorley wasn't impressive and Lions are in trouble if a team stops Barkley. Saquon took a beating last night and I realize he's super human and all. Can he continue taking these types of beatings and stay healthy? And can cocky Trace lead Lions if an injury happens? My guess is no. Too much dependence on Barkley. McSorely appears to be a huge d-bag that has made it because of the system Lions run and Saquon Barkley.

We should add this to the "stay classy PSU thread"

So are you telling us he's not a dbag? He is clearly a dbag and probably the least respected guy in the conference. I wouldn't mind kicking him in his nuts to humble him just a tad. Why is it always the guy that acts the most douche that is never the beast player on the team? Barkley is a humble stud and then he has this clown to work with...

Punting the ball after the kneel down was uncalled for, this thread was definitely called for by the #1 DB.

Sure, it was uncalled for.

But if you've ever played sports before you'd understand how emotionally gut wrenching it can be. I'm not willing to make claims about a kid's character/integrity/etc. based off of something like that.

For all I know, he could very well be a piece of work (he wouldn't be the first college athlete), but punting the football after a hard fought win is not evidence of that one way or the other. It showed bad judgment and that's about it.

2 things:

1: Iowa last night basically said, we are going to take away your downfield passing to prevent the Big play. We won't stack the box to stop the run and we will give you the short underneath passes where Barkley had all his catches. Iowa was the first team I remember that actually tried to take away the rest of our offense and make Barkley beat us. It sounds crazy, but it almost worked. PSU offense is built on explosive plays, and the iowa gameplan took that away.

2. What makes people hate Trace is what makes him special. He has some swagger to him that rubs people the wrong way, but he is the leader of the offense and gives the unit confidence. Without it the team doesn't complete the second half comebacks that they did last year on their way to winning the conference. Trace is a winner and as he goes the team goes.

I disagree, he had plenty of time to comprehend the situation and not do the punt. He even had to set a play to snap the ball prior to doing the punt. Enough said, would never see Stanley do this and he will be twice the qb that McSorley is...

Trace would beat you down

Jewell mocked McSorley's home run celebration...does that make Jewell a dbag? Some butt hurt losers on this board.

Let's see cause and effect, McS has been acting this douche way for sometime. Jewell was just answering the dbag. JJ doesn't do this to anyone else. It was directed at your dbag qb. There are no sore losers here, I am actually fine with losing and how well we played. It was a great game.

I do agree that Nathan Stanley has the potential to be really good (especially after he learns to settle down and not be so jacked on some of those overthrows).

We can agree to disagree on McSorley then. I'm simply saying I don't know the kid and if punting the ball at the end of the game is his worst offense I'm not going to crucify him.

The greater issue is threads like these make Iowa fans look like whiny, butthurt sore losers.

Will pull against them rest of the season and if DB gets injured wouldn't bother me an inch.

Back to boy shagging town you go Lions.
Good morning.

Get over yourself yet?

McSorley would give you multiple-orgasm wet dreams if he was wearing an Iowa uniform.

Of course, if he was wearing an Iowa uniform, Kirk would have him at safety.

The bottomline is sports are emotional. Especially at that level.

Yes, people express butthurt on anonymous message boards over a football game. I'm sure as a Penn State fan you witnessed plenty of it during the latter Joe Paterno years when Iowa was beating Penn State with regularity.

But I'm sure Penn State fans are much classier than Iowa fans as a whole. Especially during and after the child abuse scandal. Many of you showed such great humility about the whole ordeal, defending St. Joe until the very end.

Just saying...perspective on many levels here.

To tell the truth the cut block on Jewell was one of the dirtiest plays I've seen for awhile and KF was going crazy on that. That was a much worst of a DB play than the punt after the game

McSorley is 70-8 as a starting QB. Kid's a winner.

Thought our Zephs would play better def on Friday EPC, Parvel was great, need more from our lines though to challenge top tier, could be trouble this Friday, parkland is tough up front

wow... just wow... Stanley would be 4th teamer at PSU. He fits what Iowa does, he is not a great athlete. If he develops he might be an NFL backup.

I don't really care about the punting the football thing. It isn't nearly as overtly egregious as taking a flag and planting it at midfield. He apologized for it and I'm willing to give it a pass. Now, if he constantly is apologizing for stupid behavior then it becomes a problem.

The guy made plays when he had to and was under pressure. That last drive was phenomenal, especially since PSU was down to their last play more than once on that drive.

Stanley will be playing in the NFL someday, I doubt McSorley.

McSorley also apologized for punting the ball after taking a knee to finish the game. Coach James Franklin reprimanded McSorley for doing so, and the quarterback said he got caught in the moment.

“I meant absolutely no disrespect to Iowa or their program or their fans,” he said. “… To be honest, I don’t want to say we’re lucky to pull it out, but you don’t get those kinds off games all the time. I just got caught up in the moment.”

This. All of this. P St won't make Indy this year. Very unimpressed with them.

Dude was excited for a last second win. Refs should have called the game after their TD. No reason to play that PAT. They were trying to celebrate together and the refs stopped it for no reason. Hats off to the Nitts, they won.

the kid just drove his team 80 yds in a minute and threw a TD pass on the final play of the game .. he deserved to do anything he wanted with the ball
the drop kick was pretty cool actually , don't take it personally and chill out
not every team is a buttoned up, uptight dictatorship like Iowa

Joe Pa's Nitt's STFU for decades about child rape. Maybe wait for our non-rhabdo scandal to pop back up again.
