Md at OSU

OSU winning would make for a great week for Iowa.

Beat OSU in their only matchup (BTT seeding tiebreakers) and then have OSU bring MD back to the pack a bit.

OSU up by 7, 40-33 at halftime. It's been a pretty good game so far. Here's to hoping OSU can pull it off!

I think I would have preferred OSU losing.

Keep another team below us, both for the BTT and NCAA seeding.

Highly unlikely Maryland loses two more to lose the conference title anyway.
You're probably right. It's just wishful thinking on my part that MD might lose another game and Iowa takes down PSU and MSU. I'm more leaning on the bye games in the Big tourney more than anything at this point.

we're not catching MD and OSU isn't catching us, game didn't really do anything for us imo

MD could lose 2, but that would also mean anyone in 2nd needs to win out and have md lose 2

odd of taking 1st are very slim.

just need to win 3 more to ensure top 4!
I think 1st is mostly a pipe dream at this point but it would be nice to get some byes in the big ten tournament. From what we've seen this season, just about any team can take down any team in the big ten so I'd rather skip some.

Agreed
However I get the feeling, we're not going to get any help. I think we're gonna need to finish 3-1 and we'll be good to go. 2-2 and we're likely gonna need too much help.

This has been a wild season in the conference so far and a lot of fun to say the least. As far as I can tell by looking at the standings, if MD had won today, there would be zero chance of anyone else winning the season conference. At least OSU helped give us a .00001% chance!

I think a rising tide lifts all, to coin a phrase. OSU solidifying their spot helps all B1g teams in the grander scheme of things. Can’t see the committee placing them above us, yet their resume is quite good.

Maryland could easily go 2-2 in their finish. (at Minn and Rutgers, both who are facing must wins. Plus home games vs Michigan State & Michigan)

They not that much better than others in the conference, and 2-2 is a real possibility.

They have been hot lately but every team goes though ups and downs in this conference. Teams also tend to underperform at the top with pressure to finish.

I don’t care if a B1G team gets a 1 seed, especially this year. The parity is such that 1s are no lock for second weekend. Seems negatives outweigh positives in terms of conference perception in a year with so much parity. I’m kind of hoping B1G gets “underseeded” and goes into tourney with a collective chip on its shoulder, then has a great March.

Agree. Not been a season like this one that I can remember, but no one is untouchable in any game this year. Iowa for sure can compete with any team in the land.

Just not a lot of separation between #1 and #10 in the B1G this season.
Hell, the 12th place team(pu) demolished 3 of the 4 teams currently in the 2nd place logjam.

The B1G this year is 2 terrible teams(jnw and nebby). 2 teams not far out of the tourney(minny and pu). And the rest with not a lot of light between them.

I don’t think he was even trying to kick Wesson, but the act alone warranted the T.

I don't think he was either, but just by the kicking motion, I can see how a ref would confuse it as an act of aggression - especially the one who called it, IE the farthest one away from the action.

Missed the game unfortunately. Had mixed feelings. Now the B1G might not have even a 2-seed, unless the Terps win out. Both teams are almost certainly in. What happened to the back up center for OSU?

Rooting for Terps. Would like to see a Big Ten team get a one seed.

I, on the other hand, would like to see Iowa at least tie for the Big Ten title, so the Maryland loss helps that, not to mention that the team that beat Maryland was handled pretty well by the Hawkeyes a few days ago.

I saw the replay, and the kicking was purely out of protest to a horrible no call. No way, he was trying to kick Wesson, but it did show up the officials, who blew the call.

I just don't get Mark Sturgeon. He has these great talented teams year after year and once he gets to the post season, does nothing with them.
