The Hawks now officially begin their run up to the season opener with the beginning of fall camp. I'm excited to hear who is pushing for time and turning heads in practice. This is that time of year when football is in the air. There have been numerous developments in the off-season. Old faces have left the program and new players are poised to put their stamp of success on the Gridiron. Lots of position group development to watch and young players coming up the ropes with high aspirations. Lets hope they come together with sound Leadership, Team Mentality and great Chemistry to have a stellar season. Can't wait for them to get the pads poppin!

I see its a night practice. Are a lot of them at night? Any idea how much the practice time varies during August camp?

Hawks sporting them new practice jerseys for fall camp 2018. Bout time for the upgrade. I guess thats why surplus was selling so many old practice jerseys.

Friday night practice from 7-10 p.m., followed by Sat. practice from 6-9 a.m. ~ would that emulate the now prohibited "two--a-days?" It would definitely cut into the Friday night partying.

At this time I am going to guess there isnt a ton of partying going on. I am assuming there is enough puking going on in the morning.

The first couple of weeks (until school starts) they are in a hotel. So it's practice, then either workouts/meetings at the facility and then to the hotel. No Friday night partying for anyone. Trouble could still occur once school starts when they are either in dorms or off-campus housing, but still much less likely than the summer.

Today is Media Day for the Hawks. I know we'll get a bunch of measured coach speak and obligatory interviews, but hopefully some player developments become apparent despite being only one week into Camp.

The Paulsen twins need to have their own talk show. Who will tell them they can't? That was pretty interesting. :)

That might be more their thing than football, although they need some lessons from Mrs. Vandeberg. At least they weren't popping the splits and stuff.

ISM told one of the Paulsens that he has a Pineapple on his head.

Love the Team attitude everybody is bringing this year. Nobody thinks they are the top dog. BF talks about no egos up in New England. This team sounds that way. Mekhi Sargent is a breath of fresh air and quietly confident. Alaric Jackson has some growing to do and I really hope he does it for his sake and the Hawks.
Talk of early struggles (suspensions) galvanizing the team has me thinking it could happen. Guys need a wake up call and some humbling. A good lesson for all, including myself. I continue to be very impressed with Stanleys maturity! He is the leader of the team and will have a chance to become a Heisman contender IMO. If the offense reaches full potential, Stan could win the whole thang.

I'm also impressed with Coach Bell especially after watching some interview video of him. He's very well spoken and intelligent. He is a glue type of Coach that is invaluable to this program. His recruiting acumen is becoming more apparent each year.
