I’m still kinda annoyed that they did ultimately decide to make a sequel to spaceballs. It’s perfect on its own, sequels to comedies are notoriously difficult to pull off well, and frankly, I was very disappointed by the history of the world part 2 limited series they did on Hulu a couple years back.

From what I can see, it's for rent for $4 on Prime, YoutubeTV, AppleTV, etc. Any time I've seen the original one it's because I happened to randomly see it was on TV.

FWIW, the remake is great, and it's still a Mel Brooks film.

I've heard Rick Moranis is coming out of retirement for this film.

Last time he was in a live action film was 1997.
