Pretty good performance for the men's team, 81 points for third. Illinois won the title with 145 and Nebraska was second with 108. Hawks got individual titles from Babatunde Amosu in the triple jump and Aaron Mallett in the 110 high hurdles. Men's 4x100 was second, and the 4x400 finished third. After Drake, I was a bit concerned about how the team would fare this year. But they picked it up for Big Tens.
As for the women's performance, I guess we should be happy they did have an individual champion in the 400. But the team finishing 8th in a year when some of the perennial powers are way down, that is disheartening. I've said it before and it rings true again, more should be expected out of this program.
