Pretty much took opposite views on the conference tourneys.

The head of the WBB committee said they put a lot of weight on tourney results. Hence Iowa's jump.

The men's committee pretty much ignored tourney results. Hence Iowa not making it to #4. Especially noticeable was T A&M not making it.

Just thought it was odd.

I don't think the focus should be primarily on the tourney but last 10 games should matter. It used to be a major factor. I don't think Iowa had any chance at a 4. The non-conference schedule was so bad. Fran needs to beef it up for next season.

I'm not saying right or wrong.

Just that the two committee's viewed it exactly oppositely.

I think Iowa getting the 5 was because they won, instead of a 6 if they'd lost or a 7 if they lost the first couple days. I do think Purdue could've slid into a two had they won today. Beating NW, Indiana, or Rutgers didn't really do anything to help the resume. One is awful and the other two were last four in/first four out type teams, and I'm not sure Indiana would've made it at all had they not made the semis. Women moved from a 3 to 2, much like Purdue likely would've. Texas A&M probably deserved to get in, but teams like Richmond stole bids today and that's what happens.

I think the committee had the brackets set before our game finished today. Both teams were in the tourney already, so they didn’t care about the result either way. That’s the only way I can justify us being the lowest rated 5 seed, aka #20 in the country after the four game winning streak where we started at #24 with many teams in front of us losing and us beating a higher ranked team.

they probably had better wins. NW, Rutgers and Indiana aren't top tier. Had we played illinois and beat them then beat purdue then maybe a case for a 4 seed.
