I'd guess Connor too, especially because Fran's thought process will typically go like this: JoeT playing too fast/reckless? Connor, get in there! Patrick getting outmuscled at the 3? Connor, get in there! Feeding the post seeming to be a problem? Connor...!!Well it depends on how the team is being run/organized during first few minutes if Fran senses disorganization in the half court Conner will be first off the bench
No surprise there. I'm really curious as to who will be the first player off the bench. Kris, Connor, Perkins or Ulis?
Jbo’s matchup getting by him ever possession, keeps him in.I'd guess Connor too, especially because Fran's thought process will typically go like this: JoeT playing too fast/reckless? With two of the guards being 6'9" PMac, and 6'9" Kris on the wings....Sounds like we will see a lot of 4 guard lineups. Murray at the 5.
Sounds good. Gotta start somewhere. Fran will be tweaking, I'm sure.
SandfortStill feel like jbo should come off the bench and just shoot away when he’s in. Little worried about who’s gonna shoot on the second unit
Sandfort

This. Sandfort is going to surprise a lot of people. He really grew up a lot between the end of his senior year and this fall. He looks like a different player.Sandfort
Not a chance. 4 guys on the court that shoot threes at a 25% clip. No way.Sounds like we will see a lot of 4 guard lineups. Murray at the 5.
Hopefully they've all been practicing in the off season. Not a chance. 4 guys on the court that shoot threes at a 25% clip. No way.
Gonna add Kris Murray to this. Absolutely gorgeous form. I think Kenyon said on here he is a better shooter than Keegan.Sandfort
Will probably depend on opponent and how they look when actual games start. I would guess it would change by gameNo surprise there. I'm really curious as to who will be the first player off the bench. Kris, Connor, Perkins or Ulis?
Its an uneducated guess at best what percentage most of them will shoot from 3 outside of the jbo and Joe.Not a chance. 4 guys on the court that shoot threes at a 25% clip. No way.
your man CMAC will be playing 15-20 min a game with a cane.No surprise there. I'm really curious as to who will be the first player off the bench. Kris, Connor, Perkins or Ulis?
If this is their ceiling, I'd say we are in some serious trouble. Not a chance. 4 guys on the court that shoot threes at a 25% clip. No way.
Can't Perkins, Kris Murray, and Sandfort all shoot the rock? It's also not like Fran has to do the hockey style line change. When JBo and Pmac come out at the 5-7 minute mark you'll have perhaps Perkins and Murray or Perkins and Sandfort or Connor and Sandfort coming in to spell. There should still be scorers on the floor. The only combination I don't really like based on last year is Connor and JT being on the floor together. This is why (if JT is playing under control), I think Connor's minutes should be more limited to when JT isn't out there. That makes scoring tougher based on their history. I like having JBo in with JoeT though. They compliment each other pretty well in terms of their games. With that starting lineup JBo would appear to be the only weak defender on the floor. JT and the guys around him can cover a lot of ground defensively. On the other hand JT can break down a defense and feed JBo with some good open looks. We'll have to see but conceptually I like those 2 on the floor together.Still feel like jbo should come off the bench and just shoot away when he’s in. Little worried about who’s gonna shoot on the second unit
I think that's a pretty decent likelihood given the tradeoffs last year to this one. Luka was a pretty good shot blocker but JW and Cmac never blocked any shots and all 3 lacked the quickness defensively to shut down the baseline. Keegan was the best shot blocker/defender on the team and PMac was probably 3rd best down low. Both are quicker defensively than JW and CMac.. The one question I have is Rebraca and how he plays defensively. I know he was supposed to come in with a versatile game so..... I wasn't sure whether that was just offensively or overall.Hopefully we contest more shots and defend better along the baseline!
Im thinking we’re going to see a little more of sandfort than most are expecting. If he is athletic enough to keep up, a guy that’s 6’7 and can shoot like him will be hard to keep off the floor. Especially for a team that lacks proven shooters and given he can play a few positions. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him in the 10-15mpg range.
Agreed, that’s really what I meant by athletic enough…but we’ve all seen how Fran prioritizes offense, so if he can fill it up from 3, he’ll play regardless. With weezy gone there’s obviously a lot of minutes to fill at the 3.I had the chance to see that Waukee team a few times. Peyton Sandfort's shooting is for real. Some of the guys that have seen some practices also say the shooting has translated to college.
The questions are going to be Peyton's ability to keep up defensively. That is not to say we know that answer. Looking forward to seeing him play with major college competition.
Just going by last years numbers. (Approximately)Its an uneducated guess at best what percentage most of them will shoot from 3 outside of the jbo and Joe.
Right but outside the two I mentioned the sample size is too small to matter.Just going by last years numbers. (Approximately)
