Men's Starting Lineup

No surprise there. I'm really curious as to who will be the first player off the bench. Kris, Connor, Perkins or Ulis?

Well it depends on how the team is being run/organized during first few minutes if Fran senses disorganization in the half court Conner will be first off the bench

I'd guess Connor too, especially because Fran's thought process will typically go like this: JoeT playing too fast/reckless? Connor, get in there! Patrick getting outmuscled at the 3? Connor, get in there! Feeding the post seeming to be a problem? Connor...!!

Still feel like jbo should come off the bench and just shoot away when he’s in. Little worried about who’s gonna shoot on the second unit
Can't Perkins, Kris Murray, and Sandfort all shoot the rock? It's also not like Fran has to do the hockey style line change. When JBo and Pmac come out at the 5-7 minute mark you'll have perhaps Perkins and Murray or Perkins and Sandfort or Connor and Sandfort coming in to spell. There should still be scorers on the floor. The only combination I don't really like based on last year is Connor and JT being on the floor together. This is why (if JT is playing under control), I think Connor's minutes should be more limited to when JT isn't out there. That makes scoring tougher based on their history. I like having JBo in with JoeT though. They compliment each other pretty well in terms of their games. With that starting lineup JBo would appear to be the only weak defender on the floor. JT and the guys around him can cover a lot of ground defensively. On the other hand JT can break down a defense and feed JBo with some good open looks. We'll have to see but conceptually I like those 2 on the floor together.

I suspect the rotations aren't set and will evolve over the first few games. Hawks have talent, but lots of unproven pieces for Fran to consider. The starting line up is what I would have predicted.

Hopefully we contest more shots and defend better along the baseline!
I think that's a pretty decent likelihood given the tradeoffs last year to this one. Luka was a pretty good shot blocker but JW and Cmac never blocked any shots and all 3 lacked the quickness defensively to shut down the baseline. Keegan was the best shot blocker/defender on the team and PMac was probably 3rd best down low. Both are quicker defensively than JW and CMac.. The one question I have is Rebraca and how he plays defensively. I know he was supposed to come in with a versatile game so..... I wasn't sure whether that was just offensively or overall.

Im thinking we’re going to see a little more of sandfort than most are expecting. If he is athletic enough to keep up, a guy that’s 6’7 and can shoot like him will be hard to keep off the floor. Especially for a team that lacks proven shooters and given he can play a few positions. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him in the 10-15mpg range.

I had the chance to see that Waukee team a few times. Peyton Sandfort's shooting is for real. Some of the guys that have seen some practices also say the shooting has translated to college.

The questions are going to be Peyton's ability to keep up defensively. That is not to say we know that answer. Looking forward to seeing him play with major college competition.

Agreed, that’s really what I meant by athletic enough…but we’ve all seen how Fran prioritizes offense, so if he can fill it up from 3, he’ll play regardless. With weezy gone there’s obviously a lot of minutes to fill at the 3.

Jbo and Connor are going to play too much. Would love Perkins over Jbo. Joe T, Perkins, PMac and Keegan would be a very good defensive starting lineup. Not enough information to say who should start at the 5.
