Too bad. I'm sure he'll be fine. He looked fabulous, even against a bad Illini defense, that was still an impressive performance.
Pretty amazing they only found this out on Sunday. Betting there was no tests on Friday or Saturday on him...
Of course he will be. It's the flu.
Now if he was 80 years old with a bad heart and stuck in a nursing home I'd be concerned.
I’m not sure of that at all. I am however more certain that you are cognitively impaired.
Do they test everyday? If he played on Friday then why would you test again on Saturday morning unless there was something going on?
They test before a game and after a game because you have to be negative before playing and after playing. That is true with alll college football players.
And they play Nebraska and Purdue the next two weeks. Not even a global pandemic can stop them from winning the West.
Exactly, will this game even be played? I would guess the 9 cases (if true) against a tested full roster of ~110 would be well above the 5%...no??

MADISON — Wisconsin might have to rely on fourth-string quarterback Danny Vanden Boom to lead the offense Saturday at Nebraska.
Here's how it got to this point:
The Badgers opened the season without projected starter Jack Coan, who suffered a foot injury on Oct. 3 and underwent surgery four days later.
Redshirt freshman Graham Mertz completed 20 of 21 passes for 248 yards and five touchdowns in his starting debut, a 45-7 victory over Illinois.
However, sources told the Journal Sentinel that Mertz and No. 3 backup Chase Wolf tested positive for the coronavirus.
Mertz received a second positive test and is out. It is unclear whether Wolf received a second positive test.
Those developments have put the ball in the hands of Vanden Boom, who led Kimberly High School to a pair of WIAA Division 1 state titles.

It's been a frustrating month for Wisconsin quarterbacks, beginning with starter Jack Coan going down before the opener.
