Met Coach Lavin on the street in SF once

Hey was amazing - happy as a clam to immediately just talk B1G Ten basketball. Talked for about 5 mins and he was happy to give the time.

I wish he would do in-game calling for the Hawkeyes. He does great at the half time show, but we could use more of his basketball chatter. Plus he really seems to like the Hawks!

2000 I went to watch ISU in NCAA tournament at Minneapolis. Maryland was playing UCLA in other game. Lavin was coaching UCLA. Before the game Lavin gave every kid he could reach a high five. Just left a very good impression with me.

He gives a good general analysis and seems to be a nice guy. Good recruiter. His players at UCLA claimed he knew little to nothing about the actual X's and O's of coaching basketball but they thought he was a nice guy who had their backs.
