"Sheinbaum" doesn't sound like a Mexican surname....

That sounds like the last name of someone whose family migrated to Argentina in the mid-1940s.

I hope she has a vest.
She's going to need it if she goes after the cartels. I have no idea what her policy plans are though. For all I know she's promised to work hand in hand with them and that's how she got elected. Or, she's going to try to take the country back from them and there will be what amounts to a low grade civil war.

I'm less surprised that Mexico elected a female to be President, than I am surprised that they elected a Jew.

Mexico is full of die hard catholics.

Definitely

That is probably the best plan for making sure her head doesn't accidentally fall off too.

A Jewish woman with a PhD in Physics is elected president of Mexico before we even have a female president. What amazing times we live in.

On a related note, I hear Mexico is deporting US ex pats who have over stayed their visas. Maybe Mexico will build that wall after all.

Europe does that too. Amazing how they're held in such high regard while taking immigration so seriously.

What happened to the previous President of Mexico?

I heard he was very far left, like a Mexican Bernie Sanders.
