Now I don't wish ill health on anyone, but we've seen this playbook before.

He had a cyst drained in 2014. Then maybe for the sake of himself, his family and OSU he should hang it up. He still operates in the shadows in my perception. He didn't have freaking brain surgery for nothing. Damn, not like he is making this up.
I love when people say “word on the street” when they really mean to say, based on what I read from some random dude on Twitter.Word on the street in Columbus is that Urban Meyer
will resign after this season due to health concerns.
He has severe cluster headaches which are very
painful.

Anyone?.....A reminder that no matter who you are ... no one is invincible when it comes to your well being. I hope he gets his health issues in check ... Don't wish that on anyone ...
You don't need Urban to be elite.....but I'd prefer if you weren't, irregardless.I live in Columbus, Ohio and LuteHawk is correct. Urban is loved by most fans and the University’s governing body did NOT want to even suspend him. (One board member has resigned in express protest. ) Word is that the OSU president insisted that something be done. However, people are increasingly realizing that the piddling 3 week suspension ( which was in fact not truly for 3 weeks ) negatively reflects upon the acedemic integrity of the school. Whether the school will actually cut the cord is unknowable.... football means a ton around here. However, OSU does not need Urban to be an elite program. The Iowa State coach would certainly get a close look if Urban leaves. LuteHawk probably understands how crazy it is to live with all the Buckeye obsessed fans living around here!!!
Wouldn't wish health problems on anyone, hope he's not struggling with a health issue. That said, his last health issue coincided precisely with Tim Tebow's graduation/departure from UF.
Pretty sure his departure from Florida had nothing to do with health issues or Tim Tebow.
More like an ultimatum from the Mrs?!?!?!
I think "holding out for" is a pretty strange way to put it, considering that as far as anybody knows, he hasn't been offered another job, much less turn one down. I don't think he even has an agent. Is this the job that Campbell is holding out for? I know what he said before but that was approximately a week before camp started.
He cited health issues at the time.Pretty sure his departure from Florida had nothing to do with health issues or Tim Tebow.

It isn't ISU fans who are bringing up his name. Maybe it is on this board -- I haven't paid attention -- but not in the real world. You guys are hilarious .. even mentioning Campbell to OSU...
That's a good one...
Dude hasn't even turned ISU into a winner yet.. loses to cross state rivals and gets out recruited repeatedly
Just what makes you think he could move up to one of the most prolific programs in college football

I'm a Hawkeye, living in Columbus, pull against them every game. Campbell would be in the top 3, if not the favorite because of his ties to Ohio. Would expect a nation wide search, but Campbell can't be discounted unless a big name pops up.You guys are hilarious .. even mentioning Campbell to OSU...

Well my point still stands for any actual Buckeye fans lurking, so it is what it is.Don't presume I am an Ohio State fan. If your job caused you to move to Ann Arbor, would you be a Michigan fan? How about Omaha? State College? I certainly would not hang around this site and read your posts if I were not a Hawkeye fan.... (Then you would be missing out, sir. I will have you know people come from far and wide just to read my posts on this site.)
I also would not have traveled to Central PA (and sat in the rain last Saturday afternoon), if I was not an alumni and fan of Iowa. Assuming makes an...X... of you. (Or an asset......)
