Michigan LB visits Iowa City

Michigan linebacker Lorenzo McCaskill has eight MAC offers plus one from Cincinnati and interest throughout the Midwest, especially in the Big Ten. This past weekend, the 6-foot-0, 200-pound McCaskill had a chance to visit one of those schools, the Iowa Hawkeyes, who had him on campus for spring practice.

"It was good," said McCaskill. "I like the school and the program and how it's all about football there."

"That was the highlight was how important football is at Iowa and how dedicated their coach is, having been there so long," he continued.

McCaskill, who racked up 103 tackles as a junior at Southfield High School, feels the Iowa defense could be a good fit for him, but the Hawkeyes are being selective with linebacker offers this year.

"They are only looking for one linebacker this year and said I could be a fit," McCaskill said. "The way they run their defense, I think I would fit perfectly."

"They said they are going to stay in contact, so we'll see what happens."

Along with Iowa, McCaskill has been able to visit Northwestern, Pittsburgh, and Michigan State this spring. Currently, he holds scholarship offers from Cincinnati, Bowling Green, Ball State, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan, Buffalo, Miami of Ohio, and Toledo.
