Apparently the bitch babies can’t attend a graduation ceremony where a pro-life doctor is speaking. Seems this professor is pretty good at spotting lefty fascism, @FlickShagwell.

A fellow professor criticized the petition and cancel attempts.

“Leaving aside the specific question of abortion, this university’s increasing susceptibility to cancellation campaigns, online bullying, mob formation, and other intimidation tactics is deeply concerning to Michigan faculty who still believe in academic freedom,” English Professor Scott Lyons told The Fix via email on Thursday.

“How long can this or any research university possibly survive without absolute safeguards against an intellectual totalitarianism that recognizes only one viewpoint on every possible subject?” he wrote in his email.

LOL.

So the med school students who walked out then had their gang of thugs and goons that were standing by beat the speaker before jailing her.

That's what happened, right FAU? Because otherwise you're doubling down on a really stupid point and proving yet again that you don't know what fascism is. For your review:

“Intellectual totalitarianism allowing only one view point.” So, it’s not fascism and you’re perfectly fine with it. Gotcha.

Regardless of if she is being punished or directly harmed, there is a massive problem in our country on both sides of neither side being able to accept co-existing with anyone holding views they disagree with.

That's friggin stupid.

You are not required to listen to someone you disagree with. You can walk away which is exactly what they did. What the hell is wrong with that?!

Also LOL on this Charlie Kirk Turning Point USA source. You had to go deep to find this one, didn't you @FAUlty Gator ?
No clue who that is. But using tactics of the lower of every argument already I see.

How about these? Oh no! You’ll have to move the goalposts again and deflect!

Hey look! Salon! Your Bible!

Explain it to us. What's so bad about it.

Its not like they walked out over a 10 year old tweet quoting rap lyrics. They didn't want to hear from/walked out of someone on the opposite side, of not only them, but most of America, on the political issue of the last 50 years.

Who remembers that part in Schindler's List where the Nazis walked away from the Jews while they were speaking? So brutal! I had nightmares for weeks! Or who's read about when the Mussolini-led fascists walked away from the partisans in the Italian civil war? They should've charged him with war crimes right then and there!

Umm according to the article they are attempting to have her cancelled as the speaker.

So basically their view is no one who disagrees with us on abortion should be honored for anything or listened to on any topic.

Remember she's not coming there to talk about abortion.

The students are supposed to be held against their will. Because otherwise, it's fascism.

What’s so bad about doctors not being able to handle being around people they disagree with politically? Good luck with your practice and that Hippocrates oath, ya bunch of dumb pussies.

Are you FIng stupid. Did they walk away from a patient or a speaker?

Or do you now hate the First Amendment too and people don't have the right to walk away from speakers they find distasteful?

It shows a great amount of immaturity to not be able to stand being in the same room as her. Again she wasn't there talking about abortion. . . if she was then maybe I could understand the walk out. But she wasn't mentioning abortion.

Are these future doctors going to be willing to treat me if I come under their care? They couldn't stand to be in the same room as a fellow doctor who has the same views as I do. So why should I have any confidence that they would treat me?

The students are supposed to be held against their will. Because otherwise, it's fascism.
Held against their will? They’re trying to get a speaker cancelled that happens to hold the same opinion of almost half of the country.

Tell me you don’t know what fascism is without saying it.

Face it. You made a stupid claim that the left never practices fascism and now in the face of it, you’re all twisted up, tripling down on that idiocy.

Are you FIng stupid. Did they walk away from a patient or a speaker?

A speaker who wasn't even speaking about anything controversial.

So basically they left because they can't stand to be in the same room as her. Not because they didn't like what she was saying.

Why should I have any confidence that these doctors will treat me if I came under their care? They couldn't stand to be in the same room as her but I can be confident they would move to save my life? Why?

They’re trying to get him cancelled! “Hey nurse, that patient is wearing a red MAGA hat. Tell him that I don’t want to see him.”

ummm according to the article it didn't work and they walked out when said speaker showed up.

And why you are against people using their first amendment rights to petition the government, in this case a federally funded university, to say we don't want this speaker. Then the university said tough crap and they walked out. That is how it's supposed to work.

I wouldn't want to be forced to listen to a Nazi just cause he's coming to speak about flooding issues. Why is this any different?

The one that says "do no harm?" Sounds like the students are taking the oath seriously, and rightfully have an issue with doctors who do not.

I'm trying to help you. Go read about actual fascism. Watch any number of videos on the subject. I posted a great one with a Yale Professor who's written books on the very subject!

Or continue looking like an idiot. You've clearly been good with it for a long time now.

And when a MAGA patient shows up on their clinic? Kick them out, right?

You have an advantage here because no one can tell when you’re being stupid on purpose.

So pro-life people are held in comparable distain as National Socialists?

We've seen thousands of stories of doctors giving everything they have to treat Trumpturds who didn't take covid seriously and are clinging to life. Nice strawman, here. Again, do no harm. Treat the sick. Doesn't mean they have to sit and listen to them.

You see the thing today about Dr. BIRX saying they way over endorsed the vaccine and knew all along it wouldn't do anything to slow the spread?

Those damn magas...

Over 340 medical students had signed a petition opposing the choice of Collier as the event's keynote speaker, according to a report by The Michigan Daily, together with 72 community members including University of Michigan Medicine's residents, physicians, graduate students and alumni.

"While we support the rights of freedom of speech and religion, an anti-choice speaker as a representative of the University of Michigan undermines the University's position on abortion and supports the non-universal, theology-rooted platform to restrict abortion access, an essential part of medical care," the petition reads.

"We demand that [the university] stands in solidarity with us and selects a speaker whose values align with institutional policies, students, and the broader medical community. This speaker should inspire the next generation of healthcare providers to be courageous advocates for patient autonomy and our communities."

But the university refused to retract its decision to have Collier as keynote speaker, telling Newsweek that it could not "revoke an invitation to a speaker based on their personal beliefs."

They only walked out after the university wouldn't remove her and bow to their wishes. 'We support freedom of speech, as long as that speech aligns with our viewpoint'. I'd kick their asses out of school and go down the waiting list and let the next people in line take their spots.

Ewwww. Gross. What went wrong that we're creating intelligent young minds that operate this way?

It's the activist mindset. That sound found its way into popular culture as a virtuous way to be. The activist mindset is only contextually useful -- it's good as a pusher. To alert the masses -- hopefully -- to an important issue. It's more emotional than rational. It's not so good as a finisher, a decider, as an analyzer.

Lol…”While we support the rights of freedom of speech and religion…we are going to demonstrate that we really don’t support the rights of freedom of speech and religion.”

Funny how some of the same people who thought football players should be punished for kneeling during the National Anthem are now wailing and gnashing their teeth about this walkout.

The attempt to compare this to being treated by a doctor is idiocy on display.
