Gonzaga plays nobody so don’t come with that talking point
They have beat two top ten teams now. I hate to say it, but they are the best team in the conference. They don’t have any holes on their roster.Michigan got a 3-week break through the meat of their schedule.
Would they still be XX-1 without the pause? Who exactly knows. But imo, its kinda hard to anoint a refreshed team that won't have to play its full schedule, no matter how good they seem to be. And it mustn't be forgotten that this same UM team only played like 5 noncon games, all at home, and vs 'cupcakes' because its toughest NC opponents couldn't play due to Covid breaks of their own.
Is it any wonder the Top 3 teams nationally are that way because they all had at least one 2 or 3-week pause in their schedule? One can only wonder. But it hasn't hurt any of them and they all kept chugging along post-pause(s). Gonzaga's pause ended just before the Iowa game and Michigan's ended just 1.5 weeks ago - this was their 3rd game back in action. Baylor stuttered hard vs ISU last night in their first game after their pause, but because it was the Clowns, were able to pull it out in the end.
Not saying. Just saying.
ThisMichigan and Gonzaga both have three future NBA starters. Baylor has at least two, maybe 3. Iowa has a future NBA bench player and several guys who will play in Europe. That's ball game.
That doesn't mean they aren't the best team. This is what the tournament will determine. Nobody knows right now.Gonzaga plays nobody so don’t come with that talking point
This is what the tournament will determine.
The NCAA single elimination tournament identifies a winner,.. it does not identify the "best" team in the nation.
They are definitely won of the top teams but Gonzaga is still the best.Gonzaga plays nobody so don’t come with that talking point
Gonzaga and Mich both far better than Iowa, no matter who they play.
The only argument I would have is that I would also include Baylor.
