Might as well get this up. We all know what the ideal result is. I do have concerns as MSU has been playing much better the last two weeks.

So what you're saying is Michigan needs to lose their next 5 just because?.....Michigan has a 13-0 win streak
Iowa, ILL, and MSU are next highest in B1G at 7-3.
Bau. Expect nothing less.....Yikes....
Win and we lose one point in RPI
Lose and we lose 66 points
A loss puts our rpi near 70
Yikes....

Losing the series at Maryland wouldn't be the end of the world. Assuming they keep their RPI in the 80s, that's a solid away series. Dropping a game against MSU would be a drastic hit to Iowa's RPI as stated above. Unfortunately this is as close to 'must sweep' as you're going to get. We really need to get some RPI help from our indirect impact games this weekend.Yep, just win the series at a minimum. Iowa is in very similar position to last year. Their resume is actually quite strong. Sweep of Illinois, series wins over Okie State (road), Irvine, Nebraska, is a good resume. Even if the RPI will not be that great. But losing series to MSU or Maryland would be really bad news.

This was an interesting find . . . I checked schedules of the 5 teams immediately ahead of Iowa:
Liberty (#53) - plays 26-21/10-8 Lipscomb in three game set this weekend. Liberty gains 11 points with a win/loses 53 points with a loss.
Boston College (#54) - does not play this weekend
VCU (#55) - plays 18-24/10-8 St. Joseph's in three game set this weekend. (+13 with win/-34 with loss)
Texas (#56) - does not play this weekend
Virginia Tech (#57) - does not play this weekend
As for the teams chasing Iowa . . .
Virginia (#59) - plays 39-10/18-6 and #5 Louisville for 3 games (+42 with win/-16 with loss)
Pepperdine (#60) - plays 23-23/5-16 Portland for 3 games (+32/-32)
Campbell (#61) - plays 27-18/14-7 Winthrop for 3 games (+34/-19)
San Diego State (#62) - plays 30-13/15-7 Fresno State for 3 games (+42/-8)
UNC - Greenville (#63) - plays 14-35/8-13 VMI for 3 games (+4/-55)
Texas, Virginia, and Virginia Tech all have losing records in conference. Sure, RPI is important but the NCAA has taken a stand against including power conference teams in the tournament when they have losing records.
Texas A&M was 13-17 in the SEC last year and received a bid. That written, they were RPI top 20 pretty much all year (if not the entire year). SEC probably receives "most favored conference" status though.
Maddie Magic!!!4-0 Iowa leads grand slam
1 down, 2 to go!
On a good note Iowa did pretty well in the indirect games and gained in the RPI. Could finish at 55.
Whoa whoa whoa, they've only been playing 45 minutes and it's only the third.Welp so much for regionals....a shame one game will drop our RPI enough to cost a great season.
