MIDLANDS Champ Session

That match was epic. Cant wait for the rematch. Kemmerer had 0 quit inside him. Cant wait to watch that again. Tough calls on both guys. Great scrambles.

Don't remember the asshats name because I ignored him. I'd recommend the rest of you do the same and then he can post all he wants and no one sees the bs. I go to BWI sometimes, but never to pick a fight or act like a keyboard tough guy.

Good thing I'm not a ref. I thought both Kem and Berger had take downs that weren't called or were reversed.

Wish Kem would've hit on the 2 nice double legs. Crazy how Berger got out of those

Did Berger say something to the Iowa bench after it before shaking hands with Kem? Or did he shake hands with Brands? It went off screen. Then he went and told Kem I'll see you again.

Didn't Berger try and start something with Cooper last year in the dual at Nebby? I remember Morningstar running out to grab Cooper. Berger is a tool.

Kemerer who was the aggressor for a majority of the match went to OT. They went to SV, then TB and back to SV. At one point, Kemerer was given a TD and it was reviewed and waved off. What wasn't called was Berger grabbing Kem-Dogs headgear with 8 seconds. After another SV and Berger had a TD that was waved off and review and the wave off held. Then a Kemerer ride out, he had 32 seconds of RT and that forced Berger to an optional start. Kem-Dog got a leg and held it like the grim death to win.

Great match. Kem had best tournament on the team.

With that said Berger got totally screwed in OT. They've made the rules clear as mud in college. There is NO reaction time. He had both legs and kem hit a hip/butt Hawk fan or not anyone watching that understands the rules that's two all day.

Remember Evans/storley ot two years ago in Minny?

I thought both the wave offs were correct. I did not see both of Berger's hands touch and he also did not have kemdawg's foot. It just passed thru his hands. Great match. I think the officials got this one right. I agree also that it looked like Berger pulled kem's head gear.

Kemerer 6-5 in TB2.

I think he was taken down in the 2nd OT. But they waved it off after review. Got fortunate there.
Nope. Berger never had control of Kemerer's right foot. On replay, you can see Kemerer's foot continuously slipping out of Berger's grasp. It was very close, but he never controlled it.

Great match. Both guys were incredibly close to TD's on multiple occasions. How Kemdawg had him lifted off the mat with a deep double and didn't finish was amazing. Just a phenomenal counter by Berger to land in a wizard and fight it off. When a guy gets that deep, lifts, and plants, it's a TD 99.99% of the time. Kemdawg similarly fought out of a couple of almost certain TD's for Berger.

For those keeping score at home, Kemerer was a great sport throughout. Berger, on the other hand, planted him with a double after the buzzer in regulation and then jawed at him and went after the Iowa bench after the match. I'm sure all wrestling fans across the nation will take note.

yeah I didn't see any of the after match stuff (except the late takedown after regulation or SV1 whenever it was)... probably because I was jumping up and down from the win. What exactly happened? just talking?

Great match boys. I would like to know why they didn't giver berger the two. Maybe because he didn't control the foot?
He didn't control is as far as I'm concerned, he covered it momentarily but didn't really have a hold on it (i.e. - control). They took 2 away from Kemerer as well, had they not, all this other stuff is mute, and Kemerer has every bit of a gripe as anything Berger would have.

As it was, great match from both guys, some great shots from both and some great scrambles/counters from both. Kemdawg rode him out and that was the difference. Though I have to give him some kudo's for doing what I like our guys to do at all times in those circumstances, and that is shoot and grab a leg. You score, great, if you don't you're not likely going to be in too much trouble. Berger was slippery, that's for sure, but so is The Dawg.

Midlands Champ - Michael Kemerer. Well done kid.

I'm fine with Berger's emotions after the match. It was an intense match and it was partly his fire that helped that.

That said, hats off to Kemerer. Gas tank issues be damned, he looked pretty good in those OTs
Pretty sure Berger was telling Kemerer that he got lucky because of the TD reversal, and probably threw in a "I'll see you again" which is "meh", the usual post match garbage.
But the pointing and charging at the Iowa coach (not Terry because he was by the Nebraska bench talking with their coaches), is not something to be impressed by or excited about as far as "liking his emotions".....

Took me a few seconds to catch the sarcasm there!
