Could anyone provide a list of the teams participating this year? I'm sure it's out there somewhere, but I can only find info from last year's tournament. Thanks.
Is Illinois scheduling their bus repair that day again? We should see Imar at 65, right?I think Gilman will mop his weight up, i expect more hearts to be ripped out here. Rodriguez was able to hold Gilman to a dec a year ago, I look for Gilman to get the bonus here.
Could be very interesting at 33. Very tough field for Clark to wrestle in if hes not 100%, so not likely we see him here. But if he does go could potentially have a Seth Gross Semi followed by a Richards final. I would take Clark to win it all with tough decisions over Gross and Richards even if he were 85-90% just because of how mentally tough he is.
This will be a good barometer to get Carton ranked, and to see where Happel is at and how far he needs to go for us next year. The last time Carton and McCrystal met up Carton majored him I believe. Could see him jump into the top 15-12-ish if he beats anyone not in the top 3 of the bracket.
Sorensen should win comfortably, hopefully he doesn't have any scares
Kemerer should be tested here, and we will know a lot more about him after Midlands. I don't think the field is crazy tough, but solid. If he wins the title here I will feel very good about his chances of placing top 4 come March. I think he has some close matches but walks away with the title just because he is simply more talented than everyone else here.
Another good test for all of our guys at 165. I think Young gets a good win somewhere, he wrestles tough just has to tune up his finishes. At least Connor Flynn from Mizzou won't be thereI think Marinelli makes his statement here and makes it to the finals as long as he is opposite side of the bracket from Jordan. He can beat everyone in this bracket, even Jordan is susceptible to the upset I think, as he can certainly get lulled into slow paced, low scoring matches at times. I think Jordan is the favorite but Marinelli the 2nd best here. I expect 2nd/3rd for Marinelli and the shirt to be pulled after a good showing.
I'd like to see Meyer hold serve here and either finish Runner up to Zahid, or get the win and improve his post season seeding. I think due to Midlands seeding criteria he will be the #1 seed anyways, so he may have the easier path to the finals anyway and Zahid will dispatch of Brunson who Meyer has had some troubles with, it always seems to be a tossup with those two.
Brooks will have a tough bracket. If Downey decides to show up this could get pretty interesting. Some good semis, finals, and 3rd place matches as I think the top 4 in this bracket are a step ahead of the rest, but someone like Gravina could show up and make things interesting. I like Brooks to make the finals here, and hopefully win a title, he'll have to be on his A game to knock off Dudley, and not get tossed by Downey. The Nate Jackson match interests me as well.
I think Wilcke can make some noise here and get himself ranked with a podium finish. I just look for him to improve as the tournament progresses and hopefully can finish top 5/6.
I don't know if we see Stoll here or not, but if there is a healthy Stoll here than I think he is better than everyone here not named Medbery, and is a solid Runner-up. I look for Holloway to just try to improve as much as possible.
Yeah thats a major wiff on my part. I guess I was just sub-consciously assuming bus troubleIs Illinois scheduling their bus repair that day again? We should see Imar at 65, right?
