The local sports station interviewed Mike Gundy today. He was talking about how he likes to be proactive in adapting to changes in college football. He wants OSU to be be ahead of the curve. For example, he was talking about how OSU went RPO early because they knew it would be the future.
Mike was asked what he sees as the next change in college football. He said that defenses are running a lot of 3 man fronts and dropping back 8 in coverage to adjust to the high flying offenses. He then says that to combat that defenses, teams are starting to run two TE sets and power running the football. I about crapped myself. He said the challenge was finding the right guys.
This highlights why TE recruiting is heating up more than ever. Also, who knew that KF was so much ahead of the curve?
