Single game tickets went on sale today. I was shocked by the pricing on their site. Seems they are trying to rake their neighbors over the coals. Anyone have any experience up there? Gonna need 6 tickets and not sure if I should bite the bullet now or hit the secondary market later. Thanks guys.

They are always high for IA and WI. Few years ago tried to buy from scalpers 10 minutes before kick off. They wouldn't come down at all. Finally just bought some $10 over face.

Then getting through security is much more time consuming then Kinnick. Going to buy straight from Minnesota this year.

Definitely don't buy now. Just keep an eye on their website (the iowa game of course) and if you see there's very few tickets remaining, then buy. Right now half the stadium is still available lol. If that's the case the week of the game, secondary prices will drop in half.

Don't pay face value until you see limited tickets remain.

They open at home against North Carolina...a damn good non-con game. All kinds of tickets available. (Thursday night game...WTF?!)

Jacked up prices for Iowa... USC and Penn St as well but plenty of tickets remain for all.

Plus they play in the smallest stadium in the Big 10!
Plus, it’s perceived (if not total reality?) that Mnpls is not a safe city, so that may put a damper on some fan interest in going to games?

JFC...Mpls is no worse than any other major city in this country.

Where do you come up with this shit?
I think he's comparing it to other B1G campi. Mpls is the only real "major city" outside of Chicago or Columbus that hosts a B1G team. Iowa City, Madison, Bloomington, Lincoln are more college towns.

He also said "perceived". MSP has gotten plenty of negative press in recent years...some of it deserved. As one who lives in the Metro, I can tell you the vibe is very different since the riots of 2020.

Huntington Bank Stadium is nowhere close to the "rough" parts of the TCs.

Every major city in this country has areas less desirable than others.
Given his posting history, it was an indirect slam and politically motivated, imo.

If not...I apologize.

I have ten tickets for Illinois State @100, six for Iowa State @150, four for troy @100, four for northwestern @125, and eight for Nebraska @125, all in 127 or 128 (32 or 45 yd lines, home side)

I've been up there a couple times for Hawk games. Nice stadium, nice seats, food trucks right outside the stadium, easy walk from parking ramps, good chance to see a revenge win. Just pull the trigger.....everything costs a shit-ton these days anyway.

you gotta be aware of your surroundings, especially on light rail

criminals like to commit their crimes right before the train is about to make a stop; they steal your phone, purse, etc, and then hop off the train and run

I have family up there as well, and I do enjoy visiting--mainly because we never have to go into the actual city. Every single family member has said the same as you; many more areas are much more unsafe than they used to be. Sadly downtown Minne used to be a fun place to walk around and get some food/bevs, but sounds like that is a questionable thing to do anymore as well.

Doesn't help when the Minneapolis PD is short 200 officers and juveniles are committing a lot of the crime (and the county attorney is lenient on juveniles because she thinks juveniles' brains aren't fully developed until age 26 and that they can be rehabbed)

Understood. Though crime on and near campus is up and downtown (which is where many would like to go after the game) isn't as safe as it used to be. You refer to the "rough parts" of the TC. That's part of the issue...those areas aren't as clearly defined as in some cities. The crime had drifted around to some unexpected places.
