Iowa isn't coming off a Big Ten Title, like Northwestern in the 1996 game, but the 2015 Iowa win and the 1996 Northwestern win were mirror images.

Both games were Top 25 match ups.

Both games, the loser was dominated at home.

In 1996, Tim Dwight and Tavian Banks didn't get it done.

In 2015, Justin Jackson and his other running mates at RB didn't get it done.

Both, Iowa in 1996 and Northwestern in 2015 looked limited on offense. The defenses were dominate on the other side.

Iowa 13, Northwestern 40 at Kinnick. It took 19 years to get payback in a similar fashion.

Hats off to the 7-0 start, which the 1985 team did also with a win over Northwestern.

How good is this team?

Kirk Ferentz is right ... we don't know, but both Urban Meyer and Ferentz are using the same word to describe their respective teams, the are resilient right now.

A Northwestern PhD graduate on Mondat explained the importance on being resilient for good brain health.

Right now, Iowa may not be physically very healthy, but the character and psychological makeup of this team has been up to the levels of 1981 and 2002.

Enjoy the bye week everyone. This has been a great 7-0 start and Kirk Ferentz is the right man to lead Iowa's football program.

That became apparent really early, after the retirement of Hayden Fry. The journey wasn't fast in 1999-2001. It hasn't been since Ken O'Keefe exited and Norm Parker retired.

The 2015 team is very special and C.J. Beathard knows how rare that is with only 12 regular season games.

You take anything for granted. Great team leadership and chemistry this year.

peace
