That casino has been a "pit" for many years.

The table games have limited hours and are only open a few days a week.
Old slots and a whole bunch of other issues.
Marquette Iowa just doesn't have the population base and really not in a highly traveled part of the State.

I actually thought the next move was to close it down.

In the winter, maybe. Otherwise, Marquette is extremely busy in the spring-fall time frame. Lot's of tourists roll through doing what tourists do. Macgregor unfortunately is under construction with a new sewer system going in so the main road into town from the north is shut.

Can't say I disagree with your assessment of the Miss. Last time I was there was on a rainy day when we couldn't get out to fish or beach. Pretty "dated".
