MLB-Ian Kennedy gets 70 mill

from the Royals on a 5 year deal...Seems steep to me, but they have been to 2 straight World Series..Is this a good move for them? They also gave up their first round pick in the upcoming draft to sign IK.

Not flashy, but his numbers will translate well to pitching in KC. They now have pretty solid depth in the rotation. I like it.

Didn't he give up a fairly high amount of homers in a pitcher friendly park last year/last two years? On the positive side, he will re-unite with a former pitching coach-Dave Eiland.. This could help his career...

Lots of interesting FA's are left out there, and with Spring Training a month away we will see a flurry of deals.I guess the Royals like him. I don't like it for that many years.

Kennedy is an NL guy, you could argue he peaked five years ago. This will work out like the Gil Meche deal did.

I don't mind him as a pickup, but not at that year/price combo plus a pick.
