MLB World Series Possibilities?

As we enter the final two weeks of the season, it is possible
to see some possibilities.
St. Louis Cardinals against Kansas City Royals

Some long shots:
Toronto Blue Jays against the Chicago Cubs
New York Mets against the New York Yankees

The Blue Jays and Cubs are two of the hottest teams in
the last two months. The Mets and the Yankees would
be interesting to New York City folks.

What is your prediction for the World Series teams?

Unless it was some freakshow goat collapse for the Cubs, I'm not sure how many Cub tears you'd see if they lose the WS this year. They haven't even BEEN to the WS since 1945 and as a fan, I already feel like the Cubs are playing with house money at this point. The best days for the nucleus of this team are probably still ahead of them, no matter what happens in the playoffs this year.

right time after taking 3 out of 4 from the Pirates. The Cards
are starting to panic and will blow their lead. I say all of this

The only real chance the Cubs have for the division is to sweep the Cards this weekend. That would leave them 3-4 out (depending on whether Cards win tonight) with 13 to go. Still a long shot there, but it would be in play. If the Cubs don't sweep, it'll be WC time.

Even 3 out with 13 to go is hard to overcome. If the cubs go 13-0, the cards would have to go 10-3. So even if the Cubs go on a really good clip of 10-3 the Cards only have to go 7-6.

I totally agree. I was just pointing out that a sweep this weekend is really their only chance. A sweep would put the Cards on the rope mentally and increase pressure.
