You could fill about every seat in a school bus with all the recruits heading to Iowa from the state of Missouri. Would be nice to get a handful of these guys to wear a Hawkeye uniform ...... starting with DT Michael Thompson out of St. Louis.

Okay, honestly, I want a couple new recruits mostly so I have some football things to think about. The offseason is killing me.

Good to see Samson Evans on the list. Very talented. Of course, all the guys on the list are talented, but Evans has got 'it'.

Ten (!) TE visitors in the 2018 group... have to wonder if some are projected by coaches to OL?

I'd be happy with any two of the Missouri DL (including Trout). While I'm not that hopeful, I will note that this will be the third visit (at least?) for both Thompson and Perkins. That can't hurt.

Here's a quick breakdown by state:
Missouri - 24
Illinois - 19
Iowa - 15
Wisconsin - 9
Indiana - 7
Minnesota - 6
Kansas - 2
Ohio - 1
Michigan - 1
Great year for talent in Missouri, everybody knows it also. SEC, BIG and BIG 12 all over the state this year. Staff has been working some of these kids for two years so I hope they can get a commitment from several.

This may be just wishful thinking, but it would sure be nice to get 3 or 4 new commitments by mid next week!! There are a lot of talented kids visiting this weekend.

Yes. Might be the best year in the last 7 years. Also, good that Missouri football and the University are still in complete cluster mode. Would be nice to get Thompson.

Very true St Louis Hawk. Great time to get some inroads in KC especially. We have a pretty good track record with recruits in St Louis. Now would be a great time to take advantage while Mizzou is floundering.

Like seeing a bunch of kids from Blue Springs on the list. Its a burb on the east side of KC Missouri. Traditional power always in the hunt for a state title under Kelly Donohue. High school of former Hawk star Ladell Betts, and Illini and NFL wide reciever Branden Lloyd. Seems like lately they've had several guys end up at Nebraska. Would love to see several of those young men play for the hawks!

Do you know if John Alt still lives in Blue Springs? I believe he might have aided in the recruitment of Betts if I recall correctly

Alt lives in Minneapolis. This is his son.

No, it was John. I did a little research. John was playing for the Chiefs until 1996. Betts came into the Hawkeyes in 1997. I'm pretty sure John was living in Blue Springs during his playing days with the Chiefs.
