Iowa's offense has been a thing of beauty for the past 6 weeks. Hawks consistently run their offense and make shots better than any team I have seen this year. They are doing it against some of the best defensive teams in the country. Iowa's defense is underrated. The coordination among the players and effort is fun to watch. All four seniors make very few mistakes on the defensive end (or the offensive end, contrary to some posters). Pete makes some mistakes, but he also makes plays that are game changers. I think all of the Iowa pessimists will be on board after the Hawks beat Mary Land.
Hawks are playing really, REALLY well in virtually all phases of the game. If I had a vote in the poll, they'd be my #1 team this week.
And as some of you may have noticed, I do not exactly bleed black and gold.

There isn't really a dominant team in college basketball this year so sure why not? I'd be shocked if Iowa made it through the B1G undefeated, though, but then again if someone had told me in December Iowa would start the B1G season at 7-0 I would have sh#t a brick.
Oh, and btw, Lone Clone, sure hope the Clones take it to Kansas on Monday.
You would vote Iowa number 1 because that would ensure a Hawkeye loss. Number 1 has been certain doom for teams. Lol. You ain't foolin me lone clone. Hee hee
And since we'd be guaranteed to play in Iowa again, it's almost a certainty.
More than anything this is just a very fun team to watch ... great chemistry, effort, excellent depth, very good in multiple phases of the game. How all that compares on a national scale is hard to measure and almost meaningless at this stage. Let's see how the season plays out before crowning them #1 at anything.
