Morrow transferring

I thought he had huge potential and was sorry when the Hawks missed out on him. Miles is Huskers Lick. Best players leave every year. I hope he's got a long term deal.

A year redshirting & developing his game will be good for his junior and senior seasons. If he works hard he'll be a big asset to wherever he goes...

Wichita St or Illinois St possible landing spots? Can he transfer to another Big 10 school? I thought there was some penalty for transferring in conference.

Would have to sit out a year if transfer is to a P5. He could most definitely play immediately at a mid-major. Unless Miles decides to be a dick and block certain schools, which I doubt he does due to his uncanny resemblance of a Mr. Rogers.

Has to sit out for a mid-major as well. Still D1.
You're right - jumped the gun.

Kind of sucks for a transfer. UNO wouldn't even be an option now. Maybe he'll look at Morningside?

That's a major blow for Tim Miles

"Sources with knowledge of the situation said Morrow had expressed frustration with being slotted at center to share time with freshman Jordy Tshimanga. Morrow told those close to him he had hoped to play more at wing or forward in the future to develop his professional prospects instead of continuing to operate inside".

Sounds like a breakdown in communication between Miles and Morrow. I can't see Morrow at wing. He is a natural PF. My guess is that Miles was probably going to play Morrow at both PF and Center going forward, depending upon the situation.

Morrow was going to get 35mpg regardless IMO because he is one of the better rebounders in the league. Some coach is going to get a pretty good player but coach and player better be on the same page or the position issue is going to surface again.

Why the heck would he transfer to NAIA? He'll need to sit out a year but he's absolutely a Division 1 player -- he just averaged 10ppg in the B1G.

Come to Iowa

If Marrow has a problem with splitting game time with Jordy Tshimanga, I seriously doubt that he will be happy splitting time with Ahmad Wagner, or Cordell Pemsl, or Tyler Cook, or Nicholas Baer, or even Jack Nunge - 6 players at his position (Forward) with at least two years of eligibility remaining.

He wants to play wing also. I don't know, maybe he can transform into a wing player in his last two seasons in college (I doubt it) but he would need to battle Moss, Dailey, and Weiskamp for playing time..... possibly Williams also.

Marrow is better off transferring to a team with a need at SF/PF and a coach who is willing to experiment playing Ed on the wing. He is indeed very talented IMO but there is no doubt he would be limited in minutes at Iowa and very questionable Fran would ever play him on the wing.

Im not going to say you arent correct, but I wanted him during recruiting and still do. Think he could be a great player if he can stay healthy, and he could play with a HS teammate!

If we had scholarships (and they came from the front court) I'd definitely be willing to support Morrow and Watson. Watson would obviously fill a bigger need at this point, adding a quicker option at PG. Hopefully if they do both transfer, they can find situations that help them meet their goals, except when it comes to competing against Iowa.

Things must really suck for him to consider transferring. Weren't both his parents Nebraska grads? He's a legacy!

I think the Watson kid is a young stud.....very impressive this year. Last year I wasn't so sure but after this season.....clearly that kid is a difference maker.

F that clown, we don't want him!
We are way more too softer for him anyways ;)
Tshimanga said that.

IIRC, Fran recruited both Glynn Watson and (I know for sure) Morrow in high school. Still tough to imagine that we'll have a scholarship available. That would be crazy though. Two All-Big Ten caliber PG's on our team.

Is it me, or does it seem like Miles has at least 1 or 2 of these incidents in the off season every year. Didn't he have some other good guys transfer or leave abruptly?

Andrew White left out of the blue last year. He was a transfer from Kansas and left for Syracuse. Few years earlier his best player Petteway left after his junior year for pros and don't believe he was drafted. No Miles loses his best player Webster to graduation and maybe 2nd best returning player behind Watson next season. Nebraskaball at its finest.

Morrow also was HS teammates with Moss.

The new Drake HC coached under Miles at CSU for 4-5 years..Might not mean anything as far as Morrow's intentions, but, atleast, there could be an open line of communication available.
Drake could become transfer U for a few years to get its hoops program moving up the ladder.

OOPS thx for the correction!

Yes, Miles seems to get some talent on campus but he loses them at too fast a rate. Definitely Lickliter-like, except Lickliter for most part didn't get talented players other than legacies Gatens and Marble.

Watson would be a great pickup for Hawks, but pipe dream I suppose. Morrow is rebounder/garbage put back scorer and is good at that role. He ought to hit the textbooks and give up on trying to become a professional basketball player. Get ready to get a real job in future.

Cripes they have two guys who will redshirt after transferring in and eight scholarship guys who will be on the roster and able to play!!!!

I don't think they can afford to wait, can Miles now. Well, don't...but they should.
