Most Quad 1 Wins

Gonzaga has 4 Quad 1A wins, Iowa has 5 Q1B wins. So, yes - we own more, but Gonzaga's are MUCH more impressive at the moment.
and the Zags were scheduled to play Baylor

I give them credit; their nonconference schedule was impressive

I am glad we got a first hand look at them because they are the team to beat, imo

Ehh.....Baylor looked better against Kansas than Gonzaga did against us.

Gonzaga looked like any other upper tier team that was able to bomb away from deep while Iowa struggled to shoot. Seen it a million times.

I mean ffs Minnesota did the same thing (and scored more points against us). You are gonna look like a f***ing world beater when you hit 17 threes regardless if you're guarded, open, shooting from the half court line or wearing a f***ing blindfold.

Gonzaga had a 22pt lead on Iowa at one point--no one else (minnesota included) has gotten that big lead on Iowa this season. Gonzaga is legit and I think Baylor is legit. Iowa can still improve if the young guys Nunge/pmac/keegan/JoeT continue to improve and the starters don't have a slump.

Correct. Gonzaga controlled that game throughout. Their average lead (Iowa's average deficit) in that game was 9.8 points. By comparison, the only Big 10 game where Iowa had a bigger average lead was Northwestern at 10.7. Credit to Iowa for having the score remain respectable, but Iowa never seriously threatened to win the game in the second half.

Gonzaga plays a great non-con every year but then they go into months of playing no one in their conference. Gonzaga and Baylor are clear 1-2 and barring weird stuff happening, they will stay there.

Iowa > Baylor/Gonzaga

Anyone want to play Alabama right now? They don’t play in a great league but they are almost literally killing the competition. Undefeated in conference play and winning their last 2 games by 30.

I don’t think Gonzaga or Baylor can beat them right now.

To beat Alabama, you want to have guards that can challenge the perimeter jump shots and a big man to play center field inside -- a la the way Illinois plays.

Alabama literally would prefer to shoot 3s or layups... nothing in between. Teams will figure that out at some point, and force them to score in the mid range (or waaaay outside)

What about how good Gonzaga looked against Kansas? Non-Gonzaga fans are forgetting how good they are by looking at flavor of the weeks (Michigan especially) because the Zags are in conference play. Villanova looked like crap last night but it was their first game back from covid, just like Gonzaga vs Iowa but it didn't stop them at all. Gonzaga is a tier above Iowa & Baylor but I think those are the three best.

Credit goes to Gonzaga for the beatdown they gave us. As the poster above said, we were not what we normally are shooting from 3 or from the ft line. The collapse at Minnesota was terrible but Iowa was not playing well almost the entire game against the Zags. I still believe they are better than us but Iowa can certainly beat them.

Baylor looks really good as well. They had a very poor game at Hilton and almost lost. I still give a slight nod to Gonzaga but they are #2.

I said this in another thread but I'm not sold on Kansas. They aren't pulling a Duke, UNC, or Kentucky but I believe they are a #10-15 team.

Don't take it too seriously........

But in all seriousness, Iowa > Gonzaga

Well, you are just an evil monkey in a closet with an opinion that is different from mine & others! ;)

Gonzaga & Baylor are in Tier 1 and I just thing Gonzaga is the better team at the moment.

And puleeeeeeeeeeeeze don't be comparing Minny to Gongaza. NO COMPARISON!
